Abstract In order to understand late magmatic processes that occur in the deep oceanic crust, we performed a phase-equilibria study in a representative late-stage system at a pressure of 200 MPa with a special focus on the role of water and oxygen fugacity. The starting composition for the experiments was evaluated based on a statistical approach using evolved fresh MORB glasses from the database PETDB highest in FeO and TiO2 (in average 17.92 wt% and 3.73 wt%, respectively), assumed to represent frozen liquids erupted at the seafloor generated by extensive differentiation of MORB. Studies of the level-crossing rate (LCR) and the average duration of fades (ADF) are so far only devoted to stochastic processes being a function of one independent variable, which is usually time or in some few cases frequency. In this paper, we study the LCR (ADF) of wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) processes in the time-frequency domain. A closed-form solution will be derived for the so-called time-frequency LCR (ADF) of the absolute value of the time-variant transfer function (TVTF) of WSSUS processes. Computing the position-spread tensor in the CAS-SCF formalism II: Spin partition

Abstract The Spin-Partitioned (SP) Total Position-Spread (TPS) tensor provides finer insights that supplement the information conveyed in the Spin-Summed (SS) TPS. The calculation of the SP-TPS has been implemented in the MOLPRO code for CAS-SCF wavefunctions allowing the study of electron (de) localization in relatively large molecular systems where the FCI treatment is rather unfeasible. An illustrative example considering one-dimensional Be wires is given as an application of the formalism.
Far-field light imaging in the presence of atmospheric turbulence with rotating anti-phase apertures: Theoretical investigation

We investigated the diffraction of far-field light objects in the presence of turbulence formed by an optical system with a rotating anti-phase mask. This mask facilitates to detect the position of faint companion in every direction around the bright companion. In the presence of atmospheric turbulence, diffraction images of distant objects are beyond the diffraction limits, the proposed phase shift mask has a merit to compensate the turbulence results high contrast astronomical imaging under partially coherent light illumination and it is proficient to increase the resolution limits in a Sparrow criterion sense. Asymmetric apodization in confocal scanning systems.

A new class of superresolution pairs of pupil filters for three-dimensional, two-pupil confocal imaging is proposed. A distinctive feature of these filters is the asymmetry of their impulse response. For synthesizing the amplitude transmittance of such filters the Fourier transform properties of Hermitian functions are employed. It is shown that, with simple phase-only filters that belong to the class in question, either axial or unidirectional lateral superresolution is achieved.

[EN] We present a new open experimental setup assisted with LabView to be used to teach the concept of the point spread function (PSF). The PSF describes the response of an image-forming system to a point object. The PSF concept is of fundamental importance in optics since the output of an image-forming system can be simulated as the convolution of the PSF with the input object. In this work, a new graphical user interface has been developed to obtain a real-time measure of the PSF and the corresponding images provided by different lenses and pupils with different sizes and shapes. Random angular coding for superresolved imaging.

In this paper, we present a new approach capable of working under coherent and incoherent illumination for achieving superresolution by random coding of the object's angular information. By placing two static random masks in optically conjugate planes inside an aperture-limited imaging setup, one may obtain a transmitted image containing spatial resolution higher than the one obtained without the masks. As the most noticeable fact, the superresolution effect is obtained without imposing any restrictions either in the time domain or in the field-of-view domain but rather only in the dynamic range of the camera device.
