Research has indicated that human walking is more unstable in the secondary, rather than primary plane of progression. However, the mechanisms of controlling dynamic stability in different planes of progression during running remain unknown. The aim of this study was to compare variability (standard deviation and coefficient of variation) and dynamic stability (sample entropy and local divergence exponent) in anterior–posterior and medio-lateral directions in forward and lateral running patterns. Comparison of implant primary stability between maxillary edentulous ridges receiving intramembranous origin block grafts

Purpose: The purposes of the present study were: to compare the resonance frequency analysis (RFA) values of implant placed in either ramus or calvaria block grafts; and to determine if implant diameter influences RFA implant stability quotient (ISQ) value. Material and Methods: This was a retrospective study that included 16 consecutives healthy patients treated with autogenous onlay block grafts for horizontal bone reconstruction in maxilla. Sulfatide excreting heterozygous carrier of juvenile metachromatic leukodystrophy or asymptomatic patient of adult metachromatic leukodystrophy.

In a family with juvenile metachromatic leukodystrophy (sulfatide lipidosis) 2 patients showed residual arysulfatase A activities of 5--6%. The patients' healthy father was characterized biochemically by a 39% normal activity of leukocyte plus plasma arylsulfatase A. The father was further characterized by a high sulfatide excretion (0.2--0.5 mg/I urine) and, paradoxically, by a normal sulfatide degrading enzyme activity in vitro. This special carrier is suspected to be heterozygous for a) arylsulfatase A deficiency and b) arylsulfatase A (sulfatidase) lability.
