Cleaning is often the survival employment that migrants can get in their new home country. Ideally, the workplace can be a site for integration and language learning. This article explores how two migrants working as cleaners in Finland narrate their work-related Finnish language learning trajectories. The research is designed by applying nexus analysis (Scollon & Scollon, 2004), which focuses on social action in the intersection of interaction order, participants’ life experiences, and discourses in place. Maģistra darba “Neveiksmīgas remigrācijas pieredze” mērķis ir analizēt neveiksmīgas remigrācijas pieredzi un sniegt izpratni par strukturālām problēmām, kas noteikušas atkārtotas emigrācijas lēmumu. Gan kā pētījuma dizains, gan analīzes metode tiek lietots naratīvs. Kvalitatīvā pētījuma dati iegūti, 2020.–2022. gadā veicot 16 padziļinātas daļēji strukturētas biogrāfiskās intervijas. Astoņi no remigrantiem pēc 12–18 mēnešiem atkārtoti lūgti pastāstīt par izmaiņām pieredzē un attieksmēs. In contemporary societies we are witnessing an expansion of the messages of human capital. These messages have as their central dimension idea of the self-entrepreneur, which implies a deepening in the logic of activation, while blurring the wage relations. In this scenario, young people with university degrees are becoming a favourite target in the offensive of human capital. The penetration of these human capital messages can be seen in the discourses of young university students who have been forced to leave the country during the crisis.
