One culture within a culture is the culture of LGBT people in Latvia or, to use a contemporary designation, queer culture. In Latvia, queer culture is still practically invisible. In this paper I will analyse two types of queer narratives: documentary life stories collected by Rita Rudusa in her book Forced Underground (2012) and the manuscript of a collection of 12 short stories by Klāvs Smilgzieds (2014), originally published serially during the 1990s in an under ground Latvian gay magazine. Both types of texts employ different emphasis talking about queers in Soviet and post-Soviet life. Multipurpose space, the figuration of food is revealed, in various literary and pictorial works, a significant meeting point of nature and culture, real and fantastic, medium of multiple artistic projects. During the sec. XV, the thematic and symbolic correlation of food and literary figuration, between Orcagna, Burchiello, Sermini and Pulci, connotes comic languages aimed at the desecration of humanistic utopias and literary stereotypes. Sermini's novels, in the early decades of the fifteenth century, cooperated in the diffusion of irreverent and parodic languages in which anti-normative requests are lodged.

Cleaning is often the survival employment that migrants can get in their new home country. Ideally, the workplace can be a site for integration and language learning. This article explores how two migrants working as cleaners in Finland narrate their work-related Finnish language learning trajectories. The research is designed by applying nexus analysis (Scollon & Scollon, 2004), which focuses on social action in the intersection of interaction order, participants’ life experiences, and discourses in place. Maģistra darba “Neveiksmīgas remigrācijas pieredze” mērķis ir analizēt neveiksmīgas remigrācijas pieredzi un sniegt izpratni par strukturālām problēmām, kas noteikušas atkārtotas emigrācijas lēmumu. Gan kā pētījuma dizains, gan analīzes metode tiek lietots naratīvs. Kvalitatīvā pētījuma dati iegūti, 2020.–2022. gadā veicot 16 padziļinātas daļēji strukturētas biogrāfiskās intervijas. Astoņi no remigrantiem pēc 12–18 mēnešiem atkārtoti lūgti pastāstīt par izmaiņām pieredzē un attieksmēs. These messages have as their central dimension idea of the self-entrepreneur, which implies a deepening in the logic of activation, while blurring the wage relations.
