Division of tectonic units in the eastern part of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt in northeast China has been a major concern and resulted in much fieldwork, but the division of these tectonic units in NE China is still controversial. Although detection of tectonic units in seismic sections is not straightforward, for this meeting, we shall try to relate tectonic units with the crustal and upper mantle structure and deformation derived from a ~2500 km long reflection seismic profile (Figure, red lines) in this area, recently acquired or reprocessed with support of China Geological Survey and the Chinese SinoProbe Project.

A literature survey of the chemistry of fluorinated oxadiazoles and thiadiazoles is presented. The core part on synthetic procedures is given by type of heterocycle and includes recent developments up to the end of 2012. Reactivity is discussed when induced by the presence of the fluorinated moiety. Selected examples of bioactive compounds and applications are illustrated.

Background: There are many models that study aspects of smoking habits: the influence of price, tax, relapse time, and the effects of prohibition. There are also studies examining the effects of the Spanish smoke-free law. We wanted to build a model able to separate the effect of the law from the pre-law evolution of smoking habits. Methods: Using data from the Spanish Ministry of Health and Social Policy, we developed a dynamic model of tobacco use. The model projects the evolution over time of the number of non-smokers, smokers and ex-smokers before 2006. Non-sampling errors occur in all social sciences, tourism included. Apart from coverage and non-response, tourism research suffers from noteworthy measurement errors. The limitation and control of non-sampling errors plays a key role to prevent serious biases in research outputs. The entire survey design process could be based on the control and reduction of non-sampling errors. From this point of view, face-to-face interviewing represents an effective response to some common threats to data quality, particularly errors attributable to respondents and non-response.

Walking tourism in urban destinations: some preliminary results from a survey in Malaga with gps-based technologies

Walking tourism in urban destinations can be defined as a sequence of day visits and/or a sequence of walking tours. In this work, GPS tracking data on spatio-temporal behaviour of walking tourists in Malaga are reported as case study. Malaga is a booming tourist destination characterized by a city centre, particularly suitable for a pedestrian visit. Drivers influencing the governance of inter-firm relationships in the biopharmaceutical industry: an empirical survey in the Italian context

This paper focuses on factors influencing the choice of the governance form in inter-firm relationships (IFRs) between pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. By reviewing the relevant literature on transaction cost economics, property right theory, real option and resources-based view, we located some drivers that might influence such relationships and we formulated a set of hypotheses linking them to governance forms.
