The aim of this paper was to gain an understanding of the views of a group of physical education teacher educators on the purpose(s) of school physical education and whether, how and why these views have changed over time. Semi-structured individual interviews were carried out with thirteen physical education teacher educators; a fourteenth participant responded to interview questions in writing. Participants were based in seven countries: Belgium, Finland, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and the USA. The study explored the latent construct underlying the assessment conceptions and practices of Finnish Health Education teachers (n = 165) in the context of curricula, seeking thereby to identify the teachers’ assessment profiles. Six underlying factors were found to encompass their assessment conceptions and practices, namely Assessment supporting learning, Assessment of working, Self and peer assessment as part of grading, Common assessment criteria, Questionable assessment practices, and Norm-referenced assessment. En este trabajo se abordan ideas pseudocientíficas en torno a la influencia de la Luna en nuestro planeta. Para ello se analiza si los libros de Física de Bachillerato y de Educación Superior tratan la influencia de la gravedad de la Luna en la Tierra y cómo lo hacen. Para el análisis se utiliza una muestra de 17 libros de textos de Física de Bachillerato y 17 utilizados en cursos de ciencia e ingeniería (13 de Física, 2 de Óptica y 2 de Astronomía) de distintos años de publicación. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan luokanopettajaopiskelijoiden (n=54) kuvauksia tekstien tuottamisesta heidän ensimmäisen yliopistovuotensa aikana. Tutkimusaineistona olivat opiskelijoiden vastaukset lomakekyselyyn heidän ensimmäisenä ja toisena opiskeluvuotenaan. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisen sisällönanalyysin ja kvantifioinnin avulla. Opiskelijat kielensivät tuottaneensa ensimmäisen opiskeluvuotensa aikana 102 erilaista tekstiä. Tutkielman tarkoituksena on selvittää oppijoiden näkemyksiä videopelien nykyisistä ja mahdollisista käyttötavoista kieltenopetuksessa ottaen huomioon koehenkilöiden koulutus- ja pelaajataustan. Pelitutkimusta ei ole vielä tehty kauaa, joten ala on hajanainen, mutta tämä tutkimus pohjautuu tietokoneavusteisen oppimisen (CALL) ja videopeleihin perustuvan oppimisen (DGBL) tutkimukseen. This paper reports on two studies designed to examine pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs. Study I investigated the measurement properties of a self-efficacy beliefs questionnaire comprising scales for computer self-efficacy, teacher self-efficacy, and self-efficacy towards technology integration. In Study I, 200 pre-service teachers completed the self-efficacy questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analyses resulted in a modified measurement model consisting of the three hypothesized self-efficacy scales.
