Cork is a unique material, characterized by small closed cell structures, high insulating properties, very low density, high fire resistance and a very good durability after simple thermal treatment. The main use of cork in the production of stopper and insulating panels obtained with cork grains and a polymeric resin. Usually cork grains used in panel production have a grainsize around 1-2 mm. In this work cork grains have been used as aggregates for natural hydraulic lime mortars by reducing grainsize distribution. Effect of the UV exposure on the creep behaviour of PLA based green composites

Green composites made of biodegradable matrices and lignocellulosic fibers are receiving growing attention from both academia and industries. Despite a wide literature can be found about mechanical behavior of such kind of composites, at the best of our knowledge, only limited information is available about their creep behavior [1] and no papers have been yet done on the effect of ultraviolet exposition. Otros objetivos fueron analizar la influencia del género y de los estudios previos al acceso a la Universidad de este profesorado sobre los diversos elementos de la indagación científica, y evaluar cuáles de estos elementos resultan de mayor dificultad. Compatibility between traditional ground layers and 3D printing materials

Starting point of this work was the restoration of a Panel Painting depicting the Adoration of the Shepherds with a Saint Bishop, by an unknown author, stored in the Galleria Regionale della Sicilia di Palazzo Abatellis, in Palermo. It was decided to integrate a missing angular decorative element of the painting’s frame in order to restore the integrity of the frame by reverse engineering and 3D printing. Reintegration was feasible as the frame has a modular decorative pattern and the remaining three corners were available.
