The Finnish classroom assessment culture is considered that of assessment for learning. The situation in upper-secondary schools is different, however. While teachers in Finland appreciate assessment supporting learning, they feel unable to merge it with assessment of learning outcomes, and favour the latter due to the Matriculation Examination (ME; e.g. Leontjev, submitted), a high-stakes exam growingly used in university admission. The R-W test is a tool examining the speed and accuracy of thinking used in labor psychology. It is described as a tool „filled with the intellectual component”, however, there is no validation data in the literature confirming that the R-W test exam some aspect of intellectual abilities. ABSTRACT A carbapenem-resistant sequence type 512 (ST512) Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase 3 (KPC-3)-producing K. pneumoniae strain showing a novel variant plasmid content was isolated in Palermo, Italy, in 2014. ST512 is a worldwide successful clone associated with the spread of bla KPC genes located on the IncFIIk pKpQIL plasmid. In our ST512 strain, the bla KPC-3 gene was unusually located on an IncX3 plasmid, whose complete sequence was determined. Two copies of bla KPC-3 ::Tn 4401a caused by intramolecular transposition events were detected in the plasmid.

A simple and prompt method to determine the mechanical properties of industrial multilayer extrusion polypropylene pipes for a gravity sewer network is suggested. The engineering formulas included for calculating the permissible thickness and relative position of a foam core in the pipes are based on a linear-elastic approximation and the rule of mixtures. The applicability of the approximation was justified experimentally during investigation of the effective tensile characteristics of single- and multilayer pipes and each layer specimen by using traditional tests and finite-element calculations. International audience; This paper reviews the most known international assessment studies that are conducted in the context of poor countries and highlights the lack of empirical evidence on the degree to which the contents of the tests really match countries' curricula. To illustrate, the paper evaluates the sensitivity of an international testing instrument by comparing the responses of students in two consecutive grades on the same battery of tests. Bakalaura darbā “Risku vadība publiskajā pārvaldē” pētīts risku vadības process valsts pārvaldes iestādēs Latvijā. Pētījumā veikta risku vadības dokumentu analīze, kā arī veiktas daļēji strukturētās intervijas ar Latvijas valsts pārvaldes iestāžu darbiniekiem, kas ikdienā auditē risku vadību. Pētījumā veikts riska inteliģences tests, kurš izveidots balstoties uz pētnieka Dilana Evansa teoriju. Pētījums sniedz padziļinātu ieskatu par risku vadību valsts pārvaldē, atklājot būtiskas nepilnības, kas ietekmē iestāžu risku vadības veiktspēju. Pētījums primāri saistošs tiem, kas strādā ar risku vadību gan publiskajā, gan privātajā sektorā, kā arī pētniekiem, kuri pēta risku vadību.
Linguistic, Contextual, and Experiential Equivalence Issues in the Adaptation of a Performance-Based Assessment of Generic Skills in Higher Education

This qualitative study investigated the various linguistic, contextual, and experiential equivalence issues embedded in a performance-based instrument aimed at assessing generic skills in higher education. A rigorous translation and adaptation process (American English to Finnish) was conducted on one instrument, namely Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+) International. The data were obtained from cognitive laboratories (n = 13), with think-alouds and follow-up interviews conducted among Finnish undergraduate students. Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 28 lapām. Tajā ir 24 attēli, 4 tabulas, 27 literatūras avoti. Darba mērķis: noskaidrot, vai izmantojot matemātisko modeli var paredzēt krāsu kauliņu sakārtošanas secības dažādu vecumu grupu pārstāvjiem bez krāsu redzes deficītiem. Metode: darbojoties ar matemātisko modeli, tika mainīts cilvēka vecums un noteikts krāsu kauliņu sakārtošanas secība Farnsworth D-15 testam. Rezultāti: matemātiskais modelis piefiksēja pirmas izmaiņas krāsu kauliņu sakārtošanas secībā 110 gadus vecam cilvēkam un konfūzijas lēņķis Vingrys & KingSmith metodē, kas ir vienāds ar -48,31°, norāda uz tritānam līdzīgo deficītu.
