Volatility transmission patterns and terrorist attacks

The objective of this study is to analyze volatility transmission between the US and Eurozone stock markets considering the effects of the September 11, March 11 and July 7 financial crises. In order to do this, we use a multivariate GARCH model and take into account the asymmetric volatility phenomenon, the non-synchronous trading problem and the crises themselves. Moreover, a graphical analysis of the Asymmetric Volatility Impulse-Response Functions (AVIRF) is introduced, which takes into consideration the crisis effect. El proyecto de investigación europeo Biohead-Citizen (2004-2008), desarrolló un estudio sobre concepciones del profesorado atendiendo a aspectos de biología, salud y educación ambiental para promover una mejor ciudadanía, incluyendo las dimensiones social y afectiva. Para ello, aplicó un cuestionario a profesorado de los diversos países objeto de estudio. Nuestro trabajo intenta sumar datos de profesorado español a los ya obtenidos en dicho proyecto que hasta este momento reúne información de más de 30 países de todos los continentes. Il saggio “L’ex convento carcere di San Vito di Agrigento. Studi sulle trasformazioni e proposte per la sua conservazione” indaga l’antico convento dei frati Minori di Agrigento, trasformato nel sec. XIX in carcere di Agrigento. Il convento, costruito fuori le mura della città, era costituito dalla chiesa, dal chiostro e dal convento con le celle e gli spazi comuni dei frati. La nuova destinazione a carcere, con i lavori effettuati tra la metà del sec. XIX, primi e metà del sec. XX, ha in parte distrutto e occultato il convento medievale. Pacientes y métodos: Se incluyen el seguimiento de 19 pacientes con FQ (11 niñas, 8 niños) de 17 meses a 18 años de edad y promedio de 10 años de enfermedad. El genotipo de 16 pacientes es delta F 508 (10 homo, 6 heterocigotos). Cada 2-3 meses se les ha realizado: valoración clínica, dietética y antropométrica clasificando el estado de nutrición (EN) según Z pesto/talla, % peso para la talla, índice de masa corporal y Z talla/edad. In order to shape tax reform it is necessary objectively to assess the current stateof-the- art of and of the outlook for the tax system. After having reviewed all previous reforms in the light of the consumption-based (interest- adjusted) concept of direct taxation, which was almost systematically implemented in Croatia in 1994, we present the results of a broad expert opinion survey about the Croatian tax system. In response to the increased popularity of medicinal plants, a number of conservation groups are recommending the investigation on poorly characterized and widely distributed species, as it is the case of camellias. In particular, Camellia japonica L. is a widespread species found in Galicia (NW Spain), where it has been largely exploited with ornamental purposes. Recent findings on its phytochemical characterization showed thousands of bioactive ingredients, mostly represented by phenolic compounds, together with terpenoids, and fatty acids.
