La influencia del cine soviético de los años veinte en La aldea maldita (Florián Rey, 1930)

Esta comunicación reflexiona sobre las razones que han llevado a los estudiosos a sostener la posible influencia del cine soviético de los años veinte en la película española La aldea Maldita (Florián Rey, 1930). Para ello analiza las circunstancias de producción de ambas cinematografías, española y rusa, entendidas en su contexto sociocultural. This paper reflects on the reasons that have led researchers to support the possible influence of the Soviet cinema of the twenties in the Spanish film “La aldea maldita” (The Cursed Village, Florian Rey, 1930). It looks at the circumstances of production of both cinemas, Spanish and Russian, understood in their cultural context.

Hepatic enhancement in cirrhosis in the portal venous phase: what are the differences between gadoxetate disodium and gadobenate dimeglumine?

Purpose: To compare the level of parenchymal and portal venous enhancement in the portal venous phase (PVP) in cirrhotic patients undergoing gadoxetate disodium- and gadobenate dimeglumine-enhanced MRI. Methods: In this retrospective study, 84 cirrhotic patients (mean age ± SD: 66 ± 13 years) who underwent contrast-enhanced MRI with both gadoxetate disodium and gadobenate dimeglumine between 2012 and 2018 were included. DNA delivery to 'ex vivo' human liver segments.

Hydrodynamic injection is an efficient procedure for liver gene therapy in rodents but with limited efficacy in large animals, using an 'in vivo' adapted regional hydrodynamic gene delivery system. We study the ability of this procedure to mediate gene delivery in human liver segments obtained by surgical resection. Watertight liver segments were retrogradely injected from hepatic vein with a saline solution containing a plasmid bearing the enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP) gene, under different conditions of flow rate (1, 10 and 20 ml s(-1)) and final perfused volume. A BMP7 Variant Inhibits Tumor Angiogenesis In Vitro and In Vivo through Direct Modulation of Endothelial Cell Biology

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs), members of the TGF-β superfamily, have numerous biological activities including control of growth, differentiation, and vascular development. Using an in vitro co-culture endothelial cord formation assay, we investigated the role of a BMP7 variant (BMP7v) in VEGF, bFGF, and tumor-driven angiogenesis. BMP7v treatment led to disruption of neo-endothelial cord formation and regression of existing VEGF and bFGF cords in vitro. Using a series of tumor cell models capable of driving angiogenesis in vitro, BMP7v treatment completely blocked cord formation.
