Subcutaneous Vulvar Flap Viability Evaluation With Near-Infrared Probe and Indocyanine Green for Vulvar Cancer Reconstructive Surgery: A Feasible Tec…

2021

Introduction: Vulvar cancer is a rare condition affecting older women and accounts for 3–5% of all gynecological cancers. Primary surgical treatment involves the removal of a large amount of tissue for which reconstructive surgery is often necessary with a high rate of postoperative complications. Despite several techniques for the evaluation of vulvar flap viability have been proposed, many methods cannot be performed during surgery and require expensive devices often missing in a gynecological clinic. This study aims to verify the feasibility and the safety of the vulvar flap viability evaluation through a near-infrared endoscopic probe and Indocyanine green (ICG) tracer in a small group …

Museums as participants in the market game: The political and economic context of the functioning of the museums

2017

Under the influence of contemporary social and political changes, which have resulted in, inter alia, changes in the structure of museum audiences and their expectations, museums have had to implement new practices and tools which were previously not present in their fields of interest. these processes changed the definition of the mission of a contemporary museum and the way of ommunicating with participants of culture. today a museum, like every other institution on the entertainment and leisure market, has to attract recipients of its offer. Museums thus engage in ever more close relationships with the field of economy. Moreover, the model of public financing of culture subjects the acti…

Complex technological and biological research of solutions for peritoneal dialysis

2018

Objective : The purpose of our work was to conduct technological, analytical, and biological investigations and stability studies of peritoneal dialysis (PD) solutions containing glucose and sodium lactate in single-chamber containers. Methods : Different formulations of PD solutions were prepared and sterilized at a temperature of 121 °C during 15 m. UV-spectrophotometric determination was performed using purified water as a blank. The spectra of the solutions were run in the range of 220 to 400 nm for the identification of an absorption maximum (λ max ) and measuring the absorbance at 228-230 nm and λ max before and after heat sterilization. λ max of the most PD solutions after sterilizat…

Drying process strongly affects probiotics viability and functionalities

2015

International audience; Probiotic formulations are widely used and are proposed to have a variety of beneficial effects, depending on the probiotic strains present in the product. The impact of drying processes on the viability of probiotics is well documented. However, the impact of these processes on probiotics functionality remains unclear. In this work, we investigated variations in seven different bacterial markers after various desiccation processes. Markers were composed of four different viability evaluation (combining two growth abilities and two cytometric measurements) and in three in vitro functionalities: stimulation of IL-10 and IL-12 production by PBMCs (immunomodulation) and…
