Synthesis and Characterization of Isotactic Poly(1-hexene)/Branched Polyethylene Multiblock Copolymer via Chain Shuttling Polymerization Technique

Understanding from the underlying mechanism of chain shuttling polymerization (CSP) is limited due to scarceness of successful reports and incompetence of traditional characterization techniques to distinguish blocky structures. Here, a simple synthesis approach for production of an isotactic poly(1-hexene)/branched polyethylene multiblock copolymer from a 1-hexene monomer is presented. Resulting copolymers can be easily characterized because of their solubility in most organic solvents. Turning while walking is problematic for individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD). We hypothesized there would be instability and turning difficulty for the PD subjects while performing a complex motor skill task of the modified figure of eight (MFE) walking task. There were 26 subjects (10 males and 16 females) with clinical diagnosis of “idiopathic” PD and undergoing L-dopa treatment participating in this study. 2D simulation of wave-particle coupling inspired by walking droplets

In recent years, a fluid dynamics phenomenon has been observed that shows interesting analogies with several quantum mechanical ones. Under specific experimental conditions, a liquid droplet released on a vibrating liquid persists in jumping, forming a localized wave-particle, and its behaviour resembles that of a de Broglie wave-particle. Mechanical and neural stretch responses of the human soleus muscle at different walking speeds

During human walking, a sudden trip may elicit a Ia afferent fibre mediated short latency stretch reflex. The aim of this study was to investigate soleus (SOL) muscle mechanical behaviour in response to dorsiflexion perturbations, and to relate this behaviour to short latency stretch reflex responses.
