This paper analyzes the widespread presence of history and diachronic linguistics in the labour of codification recently carried out by Real Academia Española and Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española in their new books Nueva gramática de la lengua española and Ortografía de la lengua española. These works draw on a wide-ranging and reliable corpus of examples from previous historical periods.

The essay analyses 2006 Convention on maritime work, and it highlights its original characteristics within ILO sources: firstly, the Convention systemises the fragmented scenario of conventions and recommendations on maritime workers’ rights. Secondly, it is characterised by a strong effectiveness, especially having regard to repatriation and to Flag State and Port State controls, not limited to ships flying a flag of a ratifying State. This study shows that, after UV-irradiation in air or vacuum, conductivity and work function of ITO and In2O3 come back to their initial values in a few hours or minutes. In addition to this instability, one of the reported drawbacks of ITO is the indium diffusion into the organic layers of operating LED, leading to performance degradation. So, we have reconsidered ITO as transparent anode and explored alternatives such as NiO.

Contributions and limitations of self assessment of competences by higher education graduates

This work presents a continuum of competence. On one extreme of which there is a subtlety of concept of competence. On the other, there are rigorous econometric analyses to find the answer to a critical question: ―to what extent is the assessment of competence reliable? ‖ Quest into the etymology helped us providing a rationale in favour of the preferred use of competence over competency. Moreover, we come to trace its roots in French literature where it was in use long before its emergence in English literature. E' stata condotta una revisione della letteratura per evidenziare quali tra le patologie lavoro-correlate esprimano differenze di sesso/genere negli outcome di salute e focalizzare i principali limiti degli studi in tale ambito. La ricerca, effettuata su PubMed mediante stringa specifica, ha identificato 4828 articoli (periodo 1997-2017) di cui 381 eleggibili ai fini della revisione (4-22% a seconda della patologia). Tra questi, il 68% hanno evidenziato differenze di sesso/genere negli outcome di salute che nella maggior parte dei casi sembrano dovute ad una diversa esposizione e/o ad una segregazione lavorativa, piuttosto che a differenze biologiche.
