The nature of teacher discourse during practical work in lower secondary physics education
2014
Opettaja puhe luokiteltiin kuuluvaksi joko ideoiden piiriin I, esi…
Incompatibility in Multi-Parameter Quantum Metrology with Fermionic Gaussian States
2019
In this article we derive a closed form expression for the incompatibility condition in multi-parameter quantum metrology when the reference states are Fermionic Gaussian states. Together with the quantum Fisher information, the knowledge of the compatibility condition provides a way of designing optimal measurement strategies for multi-parameter quantum estimation. Applications range from quantum metrology with thermal states to non-equilibrium steady states with Fermionic and spin systems.
Molecular polarizability of semiconductor clusters and nanostructures
2002
Abstract The interacting-induced-dipoles polarization model implemented in program PAPID is used for the calculation of the molecular dipole–dipole polarizability α . The method is tested with Si n , Ge n and GanAsm small clusters. On varying the number of atoms, the clusters show numbers indicative of particularly polarizable structures. The results for the polarizability are in agreement with reference calculations from Chelikowsky. The bulk limit for the polarizability is estimated from the Clausius–Mossotti relationship. The polarizability trend for these clusters as a function of size is different from what one might have expected. The clusters are all more polarizable than what one mi…
Schematic and realistic model calculations of the isovector spin monopole excitations in 116In
2012
The excitation of Gamow-Teller (GT) and isovector spin monopole (IVSM) Jπ=1+ modes in 116In by (p,n) and (n,p) charge-exchange reactions on 116Cd and on 116Sn, respectively, is studied within the framework of the quasiparticle random-phase approximation. The calculations have been performed both for schematic and realistic model situations. It appears that the calculated admixture of the IVSM and Gamow-Teller (GT) Jπ=1+ excitations is negligible and that the contribution to the strength above 20 MeV of excitation energy, in 116In, is due to the IVSM (σr2t ±) mode. This result is compared with the recent experimental work that reported a large amount of both (p,n) and (n,p) strength beyond 1…
STUDIES OF SUPERHEAVY ELEMENTS AT SHIP
2007
An overview of present experimental investigation of superheavy elements is given. The data are compared with theoretical descriptions. Results are reported from an experiment to confirm production of element 112 isotopes in irradiation of 238 UF 4 with 48 Ca . One spontaneous fission event was measured, which agrees with three events of previously measured data which had been assigned to the decay of 283112. However, more experimental work is needed in order to obtain an independent and unambiguous confirmation of previous results.

Środowisko polskich uchodźców w Pradze okresu Wielkiej Wojny (1914-1918)
2017
In 1914 Prague became one of the places where Polish refugees were hiding from the Russian soldiers' harassment. In order to help them, numerous committees were organised, among which the most prominent was Polish refugees' Committee ledby a Benedictine - father Klemens Dąbrowski. He was also a patron for Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and Students' Fraternity. The organisations donated food and clothes; their members also animated cultural life - opened librariesand organised patriotic meetings. Czech peoplc, mostly intelligentsia and clergy, provided help as well. However, many citizens of Prague were hostile towards the refugees, and when the military operation finished, most Poles lef…

Theoretical perspectives upon the return to work of cancer patients: The difficult path of integration in the organization
2015
Abstract The present article follows an in-depth analysis of several relevant articles and major findings concerning the return to work of cancer patients, in various situations, from a manager and patient point of view, putting into discussion the effects and consequences of different factors that may influence the well-being of the patient at work and impact the organizational life. The concepts of returning to work and integration are scarcely analysed throughout the scholarly literature in the case of employees diagnosed with cancer, due to several reasons presented in the paper: from the complex topic of investigation that many studies fail to approach in terms of confidentiality, tech…
