The occupation of dental assistants (DAs) involves many health risks of the musculoskeletal system due to static and prolonged work, which can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence of MSDs in DAs in Germany. Methods: For this purpose, an online questionnaire analyzed 406 (401 female participants and 5 male participants, 401w/5m) DAs. A 52-year-old female patient with a diagnostic of osteosarcoma in the mandible, in which it was necessary a reconstruction with a microvascularized osteomyocutaneous fibula bone. Coadjuvant chemotherapy was scheduled. Two years later, 4 osseointegrated implants (OII) were placed in the fibula a 2 OII in the right mandible, using a splint guided surgery. Abstract Aim This retrospective study aimed to characterize the baseline status of patients following periodontal maintenance, analysing the association between the long‐term outcome of these patients, smoking, bruxism, and the main clinical and radiographic variables. Material and methods A sample of 174 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis was refined into homogeneous subsamples according to smoking and bruxism and the rate of tooth loss due to periodontal disease (TLPD): 0, 1–2, and >2 teeth.
