On formations of finite groups with the generalized Wielandt property for residuals II
2018
A formation [Formula: see text] of finite groups has the generalized Wielandt property for residuals, or [Formula: see text] is a GWP-formation, if the [Formula: see text]-residual of a group generated by two [Formula: see text]-subnormal subgroups is the subgroup generated by their [Formula: see text]-residuals. The main result of this paper describes a large family of GWP-formations to further the transparence of this kind of formations, and it can be regarded as a natural step toward the solution of the classification problem.
Local functions on finite groups

We study local properties of finite groups using chains of p p -subgroups.
Polish G-spaces and continuous logic
2017
Abstract We extend the generalised model theory of H. Becker from [2] to the case of Polish G -spaces when G is an arbitrary Polish group. Our approach is inspired by logic actions of Polish groups which arise in continuous logic.
Unification in superintuitionistic predicate logics and its applications
2018
AbstractWe introduce unification in first-order logic. In propositional logic, unification was introduced by S. Ghilardi, see Ghilardi (1997, 1999, 2000). He successfully applied it in solving systematically the problem of admissibility of inference rules in intuitionistic and transitive modal propositional logics. Here we focus on superintuitionistic predicate logics and apply unification to some old and new problems: definability of disjunction and existential quantifier, disjunction and existential quantifier under implication, admissible rules, a basis for the passive rules, (almost) structural completeness, etc. For this aim we apply modified specific notions, introduced in proposition…

Gabor systems and almost periodic functions
2017
Abstract Inspired by results of Kim and Ron, given a Gabor frame in L 2 ( R ) , we determine a non-countable generalized frame for the non-separable space AP 2 ( R ) of the Besicovic almost periodic functions. Gabor type frames for suitable separable subspaces of AP 2 ( R ) are constructed. We show furthermore that Bessel-type estimates hold for the AP norm with respect to a countable Gabor system using suitable almost periodic norms of sequences.
Faldaprevir (BI 201335), BI 207127 and ribavirin oral therapy for treatment-naive HCV genotype 1: SOUND-C1 final results
2013
Background Faldaprevir (BI 201335) and deleobuvir (BI 207127) are direct-acting antiviral agents under development for the treatment of chronic HCV infection. This article describes the final results of the Phase Ib SOUND-C1 study that evaluated the interferon-free oral combination of faldaprevir, deleobuvir and ribavirin in 32 treatment-naive patients infected with HCV genotype 1. Methods Patients were randomized to receive deleobuvir 400 mg ( n=15) or 600 mg ( n=17) three times daily plus faldaprevir 120 mg once daily and weight-based ribavirin for 4 weeks. Interferon-free therapy was followed by response-guided faldaprevir plus pegylated interferon-α2a/ribavirin to week 24 or 48. Results…
Suckling odours in rats and mice: biological substrates that guide newborns to the nipple
2011
Proceedings Paper 12th Meeting of the Chemical Signals in Vertebrates, Aug 28-31, 2011, Berlin, GERMANY ; http://www.springer.com/life+sciences/ecology/book/978-1-4614-5926-2; International audience; It is a general strategy for mammalian females to emit odour signals to direct their offspring to the mammae and to motivate their suckling. The survival of newborns depends on their own capacities to exploit the cues emitted by their mother, or by conspecific lactating females, and to direct their behaviour to the vital targets on the mother's body-the nipples. This chapter synthesises data on some natural substrates that contribute to nipple searching and grasping in the newborns of (laborato…
A procedure to evaluate the seven parameters of the two-diode model for photovoltaic modules
2019
Abstract The paper presents an analytical procedure to calculate the seven parameters of the two-diode model of photovoltaic (PV) panels for any value of the solar irradiance and cell temperature. Six parameters (the photocurrent, the diode reverse saturation currents, the quality factor of the first diode and the series and shunt resistances), are evaluated by solving the equations related to the properties of the main points of the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics. The further information, necessary to calculate the entire set of seven truly independent parameters, is based on two conditions that have to be simultaneously satisfied: 1) the exclusion of negative values of the model pa…
An accurate one-diode model suited to represent the current-voltage characteristics of crystalline and thin-film photovoltaic modules
2020
Abstract In this paper a new one-diode model, conceived in order to be used to represent the current-voltage curves of both crystalline and thin-film photovoltaic modules, is presented. The model parameters are calculated from the information contained in the datasheets issued by manufactures by means of simple iterative procedures that do not require the assumption of simplifying hypotheses. Some innovative relations describing the dependence of the parameters from the solar irradiance and cell temperature are adopted in order to permit the model to reliably simulate the electrical behaviour of photovoltaic devices operating in real conditions. The ability of the model to calculate the cur…
