The territorial presentation of performance: the sustainability reports in automotive and aerial transport industries in Asia and EuropaThis research studies the sustainability reports of 18 automobile constructors and airlines companies for 2011. The study aims at identifying the objectives pursued by these firms and analyzing both similarities and differences. Introducing the concept of territory, we propose to consider sustainability reports as tools for a story-telling that would reconcile the social and the economic dimensions of the firms.

ABSTRACT Relational networks and intangible factors are crucial elements for the competitiveness of a territory. Public–Private–Partnerships (PPPs), in particular, allow for the provision of goods and services that favour the exploitation of complementarities between public and private resources. They aim at promoting an increase in the overall efficiency of investment projects through a complex mechanism that distributes risk and revenues among stakeholders. By discussing the concept of development itself, authors propose two synthetic indexes relying on estimation of potential: Development Space Value and Development Space Creation Under the weak hypothesis that any successful development improves future possibilities, changes in potential are a good development measure. In their path, authors show how development space is tied with freedom: a shrink in it results mechanically in indexes fall. So, "sustainable" and "economic" become two sides of same piece rather than enemies. Reliable in simulations, the approach is to be tested in real conditions, to verify full data availability and to secure calculating methods.

Il saggio analizza la tesi di laurea "Gli studi d’archeologia e la formazione del gusto neoclassico in Europa (1738-1829)", discussa da Gesualdo Bufalino nella seduta di laurea del 12 marzo del 1947, e recentemente ritrovata nell’Archivio storico dell’Ateneo di Palermo, dimostrando come la lettura di questo scritto giovanile permetta di riconsiderare retrospettivamente la parabola di Bufalino sottolineandone anche l’effetto di continuità, al di là dello scopo marcatamente funzionale cui qui obbedisce la scrittura.

Background. The value of testosterone levels and erectile dysfunction (ED) as early markers of atherosclerosis is not well understood. Objectives. To analyze the relationship between plasma testosterone levels in men with both endothelial function (F) and ED. Methods. We enrolled 802 asymptomatic, intermediate cardiovascular risk patients, according to the Framingham Risk Score, aged 40 to 80 years, who underwent the study of EF, evaluation of ED and dosage of plasma testosterone. Mono- and tetra-deprotonated 2-methylresorcinarene anions (1 and 2) as their trans-1,4-diammoniumcyclohexane (TDAC)2+ inclusion complexes are reported. The mono-anion forms a fully closed dimeric capsule [1·H2O·MeOH]22− with a cavity volume of 165 Å3 and (TDAC)2+ as the guest with an extremely high packing coefficient, PC = 84.2%, while the tetra-anion forms a close-packed structure with two structurally isomeric tetra-anions 2a and 2b with a 50 : 50 ratio in the crystal lattice. peerReviewed
