Background Because ixodid ticks are vectors of zoonotic pathogens, including Borrelia, information of their abundance, seasonal variation in questing behaviour and pathogen prevalence is important for human health. The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between reading literacy and age in an adult population aged 25 to 65 in Nordic countries using PIAAC 2012 data. More specifically, the study examined to what extent variations in the literacy proficiency of adults are explained by age and the recentness of qualifications when variables related to education, occupation, and skill use are controlled. The effect of writing modality on recollection in children and adolescents

We set out to assess the extent to which writing modality affects recollection in children and adolescents. We examined 10- to 11-year-old children’s (N = 63) and 16-year-old adolescents’ (N = 43) handwriting, keyboarding with a laptop computer and keyboarding with a touchscreen tablet computer or mobile phone in a within-subjects experimental design. Participants were instructed to write down stories dictated to them in the three writing modalities. Recollection of the stories was assessed using free recall of details in the stories. The present work was carried out to investigate the safety aspects of minimally processed red chicory (Cichorium intybus L., family Asteraceae) regarding the antibiotic resistance of Pseudomonas Migula, 1894 populations (Bacteria Pseudomonadaceae). The Pseudomonas strains tested for their characteristics were previously isolated from experimental monovarietal salads prepared with two different processes, a classic ready-to-eat (RTE) process and a process with entire leaves, and stored under refrigeration (4 °C) up to 15 days from production. El presente estudio pretende resolver la controversia en torno a la identidad y procedencia del poeta Filóxeno, célebre ditirambógrafo del siglo V-IV a.C. Para ello, hemos recopilado todos los testimonios que citan a personajes con el nombre de Filóxeno desde la primera mención de Aristófanes. La investigación ha revelado que existen varios individuos con el mismo nombre y rasgos comunes. No obstante, el examen de estos testimonios revela la existencia de un único autor de ditirambos: Filóxeno de Citera.
