This study is dedicated to one color exclusively: the color white. Thus, it provides an important contribution to the history of colors as well as to the meaning and the monochromatic use of white as a means of design in 20th century visual arts. Research is based on the assumption that in order to examine one single color it is not enough to exclusively apply methods thaf are restricted to problems that are intrinsic to the fine arts only. The target area of my research is the history of the theatre in the last decades of the 19th and the first decades of the 20th centuries. I am trying to reveal what kind of theatre existed on the fringes of the world of theatre, because in the first decades of the 20th century several artists tried to follow the new European trends and to make use of their results. I wish to present this process through the careers of two actors: Irén Feld and Artúr Bárdos. Besides these experiments I wish to deal with theatre in the country. "Uusikaa usein meidän muistojamme" : television sarjafilmit vuosilta 1957 - 1982 suomalaisten arjessa ja muistoissa

Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan katsojien suhdetta television sarjafilmeihin suomalaisen television ensimmäisten 25 vuoden aikana. Työssä selvitetään, millaisia merkityksiä sarjafilmit saivat katsojien arjessa ja miten sarjafilmejä arvotettiin. Aihetta käsitellään katsojien muistojen kautta käyttäen pääasiallisena aineistona Kun TV tuli taloon –kirjoituskilpailun vastauksia vuodelta 1982. Samalla tarkastellaan sitä, miten muistot kantoivat sarjafilmeihin liitettyjä merkityksiä. Sarjafilmit vaikuttivat katsojien elämässä myös katselutilanteen ja siinä koetun eläytymisen ulkopuolella. Erityisesti keskustelun avulla palattiin eläytymisen tunteeseen ja vahvistettiin kiintymystä mieluisiin sarjafilme…
