Tämä pro gradu -tutkielma tutkii vuoden 1976 poliisilakkoa. Miten ja miksi poliisit menivät lakkoon, mitä lakossa tapahtui ja mitä siitä seurasi? Olen käsitellyt lakkoa prosessina, joka muutti poliisien käsitystä omasta ammattikunnastaan. Tutkimuslähteinä ovat olleet jyväskyläläisten poliisien haastattelut, arkistolähteet sekä sanomalehdet, joita vertaamalla ja analysoimalla olen tehnyt tämän tutkimuksen. Suomen Poliisien Liittoon kuuluneet poliisit menivät lakkoon lähinnä palkka- ja sosiaaliseikkojen vuoksi. Lakon ulkopuolelle jäivät eri ammattiliitoissa olleet rikospoliisit sekä poliisin päällystö. Exotic and Primitive Lapland : Othering in The Earth Is a Sinful Song (1973)

This article contributes to postcolonial cultural criticism by analyzing how since the 1920s, Lapland and its residents have been portrayed as exotic Others in Finnish feature films that are set in Lapland. The roots of the othering of Lapland go back to the nationalist aspirations of the Finns. The geographical distance of the northern region has bred mental distance, because of which Lapland has remained a source of exoticism for filmmakers, who almost invariably come from the South. Lapland can be seen as Finland’s spatial and cultural Other, an “internal Other” (Jansson 2003). The innate ability of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) thermo-responsive hydrogel to copolymerize and to graft synthetic polymers and biomolecules, in conjunction with the highly controlled methods of radical polymerization which are now available, have expedited the widespread number of papers published in the last decade—especially in the biomedical field. Therefore, PNIPAAm-based hydrogels are extensively investigated for applications on the controlled delivery of active molecules, in self-healing materials, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, or in the smart encapsulation of cells. Tässä työssä olen tutkinut Leo Mellerin kirjallista tuotantoa Suomessa vuosina 1971-1979 ja vertaillut sitä sen hetkisiin todellisiin maailmanpoliittisiin tapahtumiin. Olen pohtinut, mistä Meller on saanut kirjojensa aiheet ja miksi hän on tulkinnut kyseiset maailmanpoliittiset tapahtumat juuri siten kuin hän ne kirjoissaan esittää. Tutkin Leo Mellerin kirjallista toimintaa myös erilaisten historiallisten selitysmallien avulla. Näitä historiallisia selitysmalleja ovat idealistiset selitysmallit ja rakenteelliset selitysmallit.
