Gender and entrepreneurial intentions
2014
Author's version of a chapter in the book: L. Kelley (Ed.), Entrepreneurial women : new management and leadership models. The paper identifies commonalities and differences between women and men in terms of eleven key factors’ impact on the formation of entrepreneurial intentions (EIs) among Norwegian students. The analysis is based on a sample of 1,782 Norwegian students from a variety of faculties and degree programs. A path analysis methodological approach is used, while being based on multiple regressions so as to gradually refine model complexities. Findings show that common to both sexes are the effects of entrepreneurial experience, social norms, self-efficacy, and age. The direct ef…
Undervisning og vurdering anno 2016 : et elevperspektiv
2016

2019
Masteroppgave helse- og sosialinformatikk HSI500 - Universitetet i Agder 2019 Diagnostic pathology is essential for diagnosing cancer and often also in guiding choice of treatment method. However many claim it has become a bottleneck within cancer treatment, due partly to the fact that the number of pathologists is not expanding in line with the increasing workload. Digital pathology (DP) is considered to be the solution for increased efficiency within the field of pathology. The implementation of health information systems is complex and involves technical, human and organisational aspects, and information systems of all types have consistently failed to deliver expected gains. In this study…
Governing at the frontier of the European Commission : the case of seconded national officials
2005
Studies of executive institutions have largely dealt separately with national and international executive institutions (IEIs). This study unpacks and repacks four conflicting decision-making dynamics that unfolds at the frontier of IEIs – that is, at the institutional rim where national and international executive institutions meet, interact and collide. The empirical laboratory utilised is seconded national experts in the European Commission. The survey and interview data presented demonstrates that the decision-making behaviour of seconded national experts includes a mix of departmental (portfolio), epistemic (expert) and supranational behaviour. The suspicion early voiced by Coombes (197…
International executives : transformative bureaucracies or Westphalian orders?
2004
Public Administration is in an era of change. This paper studies one under-researched part of public administration, the executive arms of International Governmental Organizations (IGOs). These are referred to as International Executives (IEs) and provide a conceptual mapping and empirical illustrations of three important dynamics of IEs – intergovernmental, supranational and transgovernmental dynamics. The paper offers a middle-range organization theory perspective that suggests five independent variables that affect the behavior and roles of IE civil servants. The variables are (i) the organizational properties of IEs, (ii) the degrees of institutionalization of IEs, (iii) the recruitment…
Re-discovering international executive institutions
2004
Public Administration is in an era of change. This article aims at re-discovering one underresearched part of public administration, the executive arms of International Governmental Organizations (IGOs). These are referred to as International Executives (IEs). The article provides a conceptual mapping and an empirical illustration of three important dynamics of IEs – intergovernmental, supranational and transgovernmental dynamics. The study also offers a middle-range organization theory perspective that suggests five independent variables that foster the advent of supranational and transgovernmental behavior and roles among IE civil servants. The variables suggested are (H1) the organizatio…
Test-retest reliability of survey items on ownership and use of physical activity trackers
2019
Background: Researchers are interested in using digital tools, such as physical activity trackers (PAT), to promote and measure physical activity. PAT is a fast-growing research area that measures movement therefore, reliable questions on the ownership and use of PATs among adolescent populations need to be developed. Objective: The aim of this study was to conduct an intra-rater test-retest reliability study on PAT survey items used for surveillance purposes among young adolescents in ownership and use of smartphone applications (apps) and heart rate monitors (HRM). Methods: Young adolescents (N = 755; 11-, 13-, and 15-year-olds) in the Olomouc region of the Czech Republic were recruited t…
Education for sustainable development : assessing the development impact of environmental education (EE) on Roatan, Honduras
2014
Master thesis in development management - University of Agder 2014 This study explores the effect of environmental education for children on Roatan, Honduras. Environmental education of children is often used as a component in conservation efforts. The continuous and accelerating destruction and overuse of natural resources is a serious threat to humans, the nature and environment we depend on for our survival.
