Il presente studio prospettico longitudinale, con follow-up a un anno, mira alla valutazione dell’effi- cacia clinica della terapia familiare sistemica, condotta secondo il modello della Scuola di Milano, nel trattamento di pazienti affetti da schizofrenia a confronto con una casistica di controllo costituita da pazienti in terapia psichiatrica di routine. Abstract The synthesis, liquid crystal and conductivity properties of a series of 27 salts based on the 5-(4-(alkyloxy)phenyl)-1,2,4-triazol-4-ium cation bearing a perfluoroalkyl chain with triflate, tetrafluoroborate and bistriflimide anion are reported. The cations are regarded as triphilic on account of their three distinct regions – hydrocarbon, fluorocarbon and ionic. The mesophases were characterised by a combination of polarised optical microscopy, calorimetry and small-angle scattering experiments using both X-rays and neutrons, while thermal stability was probed using thermogravimetric analysis. The aim of this work was to study the effect of the plasma treatment on the behavior of composite structures reinforced with marble powder, obtained as processing waste in the “Custonaci” basin. Moreover, different filler amounts (i.e. 10%wt, 20%, 30% in weight) were investigated. For the mechanical characterization, tensile and flexural quasi-static tests, Charpy impact test, and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) were performed. Nanoporous alumina membranes filled with solid acid for thin film fuel cells at intermediate temperatures

Thin film fuel cells have been fabricated by impregnation of inorganic porous membranes with inorganic proton conductor. Anodic alumina membranes (50 μm thick and pore diameter of 200 nm), filled with CsHSO4 salt have been used as protonic conductor in a hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell working between 423 and 443 K in dry atmosphere. Polarization curves at 433 K showing ohmic control with open circuit values near 0.8 V and short circuit current around 8 mA cm−2 have been obtained. Possible causes of degradation as well as alternative routes to overcome some of the problems encountered with this approach will be reported. Findings and Utility of Chest Computed Tomography in Pediatric Tuberculosis

AbstractThe objectives of this study are to describe the radiologic abnormalities detected on chest computed tomography (CT) of children suffering from tuberculosis and identify in which asymptomatic children, with positive tuberculin skin test and normal chest radiography, CT has the highest diagnostic yield using a low radiation dose protocol. The most common finding on CT in cases of tuberculosis is lymphadenopathy with necrotic appearance. In asymptomatic children with positive tuberculin skin test and normal chest radiography, CT had higher diagnostic yield in children younger than 5 years, modifying the therapeutic approach in a high percentage of cases. The aim of the study was to compare several TIRADS systems and evaluate the effect of hypoechogenicity as a sign of risk of malignancy on the overall assessment of diagnostic accuracy.
