Perturbations of the derivative along periodic orbits
2006
International audience; We show that a periodic orbit of large period of a diffeomorphism or flow, either admits a dominated splitting of a prescribed strength, or can be turned into a sink or a source by a C1-small perturbation along the orbit. As a consequence we show that the linear Poincaré flow of a C1-vector field admits a dominated splitting over any robustly transitive set.
Normal forms of hyperbolic logarithmic transseries
2021
We find the normal forms of hyperbolic logarithmic transseries with respect to parabolic logarithmic normalizing changes of variables. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition on such transseries for the normal form to be linear. The normalizing transformations are obtained via fixed point theorems, and are given algorithmically, as limits of Picard sequences in appropriate topologies.
Vis/NIR spectroelectrochemical analysis of poly-(Azure A) on ITO electrode
2006
Electrochromic behavior of poly-(Azure A) on indium–tin oxide electrode is analyzed in an aqueous potassium nitrate solution. The dependence of the absorbance on the applied potential during cyclic voltammograms proves very interesting at two selected characteristic wavelengths: at 925 nm, attributed to an intermediate species and another at 735 nm, attributed to the oxidized form of the polymer. Molar absorptivity coefficients for both species have been calculated from the relationship between current and the derivative of absorbance with respect to time. Voltammograms of formation of the intermediate are simulated from spectroelectrochemical results. Keywords: Poly-(Azure A), Spectroelect…
In situ AFM study of proton-assisted electrochemical oxidation/reduction of microparticles of organic dyes
2008
In situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) images of crystals of organic dyes alizarin, indigo and morin have been monitored during the course of their solid-state electrochemical oxidation/reduction in contact with aqueous acetate buffer. Such images indicate that proton-assisted reduction and oxidation processes are localized in a shallow layer in the vicinity of the particle/electrolyte interface, in agreement with expectances from the Lovric and Scholz model with significantly restricted proton diffusion across the solids. Keywords: Voltammetry of nanoparticles, Atomic force microscopy, Organic dyes, Diffusion
Calculation of the surface concentration of Zn(I) from the anodic voltammetric peak of zinc combined with the QCM results
2004
Deconvolution of voltammograms of anodic dissolution of zinc has proved to be possible through the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance data and the F(dm/dQ) function. This deconvolution allows to calculate the surface concentration of Zn(I) and to obtain an estimation for the kinetic constant of the second single-electron transfer. Keywords: Zinc anodic dissolution, EQCM, Surface concentration, Deconvolution and kinetic constant
Estimation of free energies of anion transfer from solid-state electrochemistry of alkynyl-based Au(I) dinuclear and Au(I)–Cu(I) cluster complexes co…
2011
A method is presented to determine the free energy for anion transfer between two solvents. This is based on solid-state electrochemistry of alkynyl-based dinuclear Au(I) complexes (AuC2R)2PPh2C6H4PPh2 (L1: R=Fc; L2: R=C6H4Fc) and heterometallic Au(I)–Cu(I) [{Au3Cu2 (C2R)6}Au3(PPh2C6H4PPh2)3](PF6)2 (L3: R=Fc; L4: R=C6H4Fc) complexes. These compounds exhibit a reversible ferrocenyl-centred solid-state oxidation processes involving anion insertion in contact with aqueous, MeOH and MeCN electrolytes. Voltammetric data can be used for a direct measurement of the free energy of ion transfer using midpeak potentials in solutions of suitable salts in the solvents separately or in mixtures of the s…
Electrochemically assisted anion insertion in Au(I)–Cu(I) heterotrimetallic clusters bearing ferrocenyl groups: Application to the fluoride/chloride …
2010
The heterotrimetallic Au(I)–Cu(I) aggregate [{Au3Cu2(C2C6H4Fc)6}Au3(PPh2C6H4PPh2)3](PF6)2 exhibits a well-defined solid state electrochemistry in contact with aqueous media, based on ferrocenyl-centred oxidation processes involving anion insertion. Upon attachment of microparticulate deposits of the cluster to graphite electrodes, distinctive electrochemical responses can be obtained for fluoride and chloride ions in aqueous media. Keywords: Heterometallic clusters, Gold, Copper, Fluoride/chloride discrimination, Electrochemical anion insertion

A Survey on Daylighting Education in Italian Universities : Knowledge of Standards, Metrics and Simulation Tools
2021
Daylighting is a strategic topic to achieve sustainable buildings, so it is more and more imperative that it is implemented in architecture curricula to prepare a new generation of daylighting-oriented practitioners. In this frame, the DAYKE project (Daylight Knowledge in Europe) was set up to explore the level of knowledge about daylighting among European professionals and students. DAYKE-Europe was replicated as DAYKE-Italy to study the knowledge of daylight standards, metrics and software among Italian architecture students, and to compare it to that observed within DAYKE-Europe. A sample of 542 questionnaires were collected in five universities. Primary outcomes were: (i) a general low …
Clinical correlates of paliperidone palmitate and aripiprazole monohydrate prescription for subjects with schizophreniaspectrum disorders: Findings f…
2020
This study, based on the 'Servizi Territoriali Associati per la Ricerca' (STAR) Network Depot Study nationwide baseline data, explored whether individual symptoms severity and clusters might influence the prescription of paliperidone palmitate 1-month (PP1M) vs. aripiprazole monohydrate. The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was used to assess psychopathology and relevant symptoms clusters. Drug Attitude Inventory, 10 items, was used to test attitude towards medications. Adherence to treatments was rated according to the Kemp seven-point scale. We assessed for eligibility 451 individuals and, among them, we included 195 subjects (n = 117 who started PPM1 and n = 78 aripiprazole monohydr…
