Les enquêtes client mystère : un dispositif de gestion au service des transformations organisationnelles ou comment réorganiser l'entreprise " au nom…
2012
The mystery shopping technique is a tool frequently used by organizations to hit a double target: (1) to seduce/to reassure/ to make the customer regular; (2) to diffuse the customer's voice in the organization and to justify the change. Although a great diffusion of the mystery shopping in private and public organizations, there are few studies on this tool. From the SNCF's example, the author considers the mystery shopping from the foucaldian point of view as a management mechanism in order to support organizational changes and analyses the effects of power induced by this tool.

Geostatistical computing of acoustic maps in the presence of barriers
2009
Acoustic maps are the main diagnostic tools used by authorities for addressing the growing problem of urban acoustic contamination. Geostatistics models phenomena with spatial variation, but restricted to homogeneous prediction regions. The presence of barriers such as buildings introduces discontinuities in prediction areas. In this paper we investigate how to incorporate information of a geographical nature into the process of geostatistical prediction. In addition, we study the use of a Cost-Based distance to quantify the correlation between locations.
Aging well in the community: Understanding the complexities of older people's dial-a-ride bus journeys
2021
Older peoples' independent living in their own homes and their ability to move around and maintain social relations in their communities have been acknowledged as important aims to support their well-being. In this article, we study Special Transport Services as a means to support older persons with ‘aging in place’ – that is, within their communities. From “go-alongs” (shared dial-a-ride bus journeys) and “sit-down interviews” (at participant's home or a café) with 12 older people living in a Finnish suburb, we explored their everyday dial-a-ride bus trips to the local mall. We used actor-network theory and the concept of motility to show how at first glance what appeared to be simple dial…
Ventilatory chemosensitivity, cerebral and muscle oxygenation, and total hemoglobin mass before and after a 72-day mt. Everest expedition.

Birth weight, adult weight, and cardiovascular biomarkers : Evidence from the Cardiovascular Young Finns Study
2021
This study quantifies the causal effect of birth weight on cardiovascular biomarkers in adulthood using the Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study (YFS). We apply a multivariable Mendelian randomization (MVMR) method that provides a novel approach to improve inference in causal analysis based on a mediation framework. The results show that birth weight is linked to triglyceride levels (β = −0.294; 95% CI [−0.591, 0.003]) but not to low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels (β = 0.007; 95% CI [−0.168, 0.183]). The total effect of birth weight on triglyceride levels is partly offset by a mediation pathway linking birth weight to adult BMI (β = 0.111; 95% CI [−0.013, 0.234]). The nega…
Experience and Existence Revisited Something Essential on A Philosophical Education in Film Art
2013
Abstract The film, the living imagery, traces out its legend before the eyes of the viewer seated there in the darkened space, and in his consciousness becomes a lived spectacle, an interiorised impress of experience. It takes up its abode in him and he falls in step with its movement, merging with the stream of its narrative. In this there evolves an aesthetic-existential situation – of one, many; of one, a qualitative multiplicity is born, and with it the experienced essence of the unique, the inimitable. On this same, the critic pronounces judgement – as often as not his verdict – on this spectacle which he – and another – has beheld; that individual, original experience is thus now couc…
