Eye diseases are currently a major public health concern due to the growing number of cases resulting from both an aging of populations and exogenous factors linked to our lifestyles. Thus, many treatments including surgical pharmacological approaches have emerged, and special attention has been paid to prevention, where diet plays a preponderant role. Recently, potential antioxidants such as resveratrol have received much attention as potential tools against various ocular diseases. Por el término Fibromialgia (FM), asumimos un trastorno de etiología no conocida hasta el momento, aparentemente crónico, que se caracteriza por dolor muscular y articular generalizado incluyendo hipersensibilidad a numerosos estímulos como la presión, el frio o el calor. En la actualidad, la propia definición del cuadro, sus criterios diagnósticos y su etiopatogenia siguen siendo causa de debate. La cirugía realizada sobre el anillo linfático de Waldeyer (amigdalectomía, adenoidectomía o adenoamigdalectomía) continúa siendo la más frecuentemente realizada en otorrinolaringología y es el procedimiento quirúrgico más frecuente en niños. Entendemos que el tejido linfático adenoamigdalar tiene una gran importancia en el desarrollo de la inmunidad infantil, contribuyendo al reconocimiento de gérmenes y estimulando el aumento de inmunoglobulinas específicas en suero como respuesta a la infección.
