Participación política, partidos y nuevos movimientos sociales
2005
CNN-Based Prostate Zonal Segmentation on T2-Weighted MR Images: A Cross-Dataset Study
2020
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among US men. However, prostate imaging is still challenging despite the advances in multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which provides both morphologic and functional information pertaining to the pathological regions. Along with whole prostate gland segmentation, distinguishing between the central gland (CG) and peripheral zone (PZ) can guide toward differential diagnosis, since the frequency and severity of tumors differ in these regions; however, their boundary is often weak and fuzzy. This work presents a preliminary study on deep learning to automatically delineate the CG and PZ, aiming at evaluating the generalization ability o…

Rethinking the improvisation of digital health technology: A niche construction perspective
2022
Paid open access The COVID-19 pandemic has sent shock waves through healthcare organisations and catalysed an impromptu digital shift, creating a demand for telemedicine and other digital health technologies. Under such conditions, improvisation, adaptation, and innovation emerge as core dimensions to an organisation’s capacity to generate a response to crisis. This paper integrates a process perspective on the radical improvisation of a digital health technology and investigates how the radical improvisation of a digital health technology emerges and develops during a health crisis. Through a combination of supporting case evidence and literature, a multi-phase conceptual process model anc…
Digital Supply Chain Vulnerabilities in Critical Infrastructure: A Systematic Literature Review on Cybersecurity in the Energy Sector
2022
The main purpose of this paper is to identify the current state of the art on digital supply chain cybersecurity risks in critical infrastructure and how the term resilience is used in this context. To achieve this objective, the authors applied a systematic literature review method that summarises and analyses the studies relevant for the research topic. In total 33 papers were identified. The results show that limited research is done on supply chain risks in critical infrastructure. Relevant frameworks and methods for resilience of supply chains have also been identified. These frameworks and methods could be very beneficial for a more holistic management of cybersecurity risks in the in…
From Common Operational Picture to Common Situational Understanding : A Framework for Information Sharing in Multi-Organizational Emergency Management
2022
Complex emergencies such as natural disasters are increasing in frequency and scope, in all regions of the world. These emergencies have devastating impacts on people, property, and the environment. Responding to these events and reducing their impact requires that emergency management organizations (EMOs) collaborate in their operations. Complex emergencies require extraordinary efforts from EMOs and often should be handled beyond ordinary routines and structures. Such operations involving multiple stakeholders are typically characterized by inadequate information sharing, decision-making problems, limited situational awareness (SA), and lack of common situational understanding. Despite a …
Community Segmentation and Inclusive Social Media Listening
2022
Social media analytics provide a generalized picture of situational awareness from the conversations happening among communities present in social media channels that are that are, or risk being affected by crises. The generalized nature of results from these analytics leaves underrepresented communities in the background. When considering social media analytics, concerns, sentiment, and needs are perceived as homogenous. However, offline, the community is diverse, often segmented by age group, occupation, or language, to name a few. Through our analysis of interviews from professionals using social media as a source of information in public service organizations, we argue that practitioner…

Permission from IEEE must be obtained for all other uses, in any current or future media, including reprinting/republishing this material for advertising or promotional purposes, creating new collective works, for resale or redistribution to servers or lists, or reuse of any copyrighted component of this work in other works. The confluence of wearable technologies for sensing learners and the quantified-self provides a unique opportunity to understand learners’ experience in diverse learning contexts. We use data from learners using Empatica Wristbands and self-reported questionnaire. We compute stress, ar…
Map-based interfaces for common operational picture
2020
Common operationalpicture (COP) map-based interfacesdisplay operational information to support integrationofemergency responders. Such interfacesintegrate different subsystems and present the resulting information into an overview for enabling situation awareness. Literature shows that they are often developed from non-user-centric perspectives and are defined in technological terms that arenot adequately capturing the users’ needs. Therefore, theaim of this particular work in progressis to get insight into the features and the role of COP map-based interfaces currently being used in Norway to (1) examine theircontent, functionality, and design;and(2) to understand how such displays are inco…
