Cognitive Impairment in Multiple Sclerosis Is Reflected by Increased Susceptibility to the Sound-Induced Flash Illusion

Objective: To determine whether the performance of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients in the sound-induced flash illusion (SiFi), a multisensory perceptual illusion, would reflect their cognitive impairment.Methods: We performed the SiFi task as well as an extensive neuropsychological testing in 95 subjects [39 patients with relapse-remitting MS (RRMS), 16 subjects with progressive multiple sclerosis (PMS) and 40 healthy control subjects (HC)].Results: MS patients reported more frequently the multisensory SiFi than HC. This study introduces a novel mandrel-less electrodeposition method and a novel electrode prototypes useful for tissue engineering applications. More specifically, in this study a novel fabrication protocol to electrospun fibers-based chords, with length spanning from 2 cm to virtually no limitations on longitudinal length, is presented. For the first part of this study, Poly(ester urethane) urea (PEUU) was used to fabricate, by electrodeposition technique, continuous microfiber wires with controlled micro-architecture and tunable mechanics. Behavior of Calcium Phosphate–Chitosan–Collagen Composite Coating on AISI 304 for Orthopedic Applications

Calcium phosphate/chitosan/collagen composite coating on AISI 304 stainless steel was investigated. Coatings were realized by galvanic coupling that occurs without an external power supply because it begins with the coupling between two metals with different standard electrochemical potentials. The process consists of the co-deposition of the three components with the calcium phosphate crystals incorporated into the polymeric composite of chitosan and collagen. Evidenze scientifiche dimostrano che un numero sempre maggiore di soggetti, anche giovani, si sottopongono a protesizzazione. Il presente studio è stato effettuato al fine di ottenere evidenza clinica sull'effetto analgesico immediato e a medio termine della terapia infiltrativa eco-guidata con HA a medio/alto p.m. I risultati mostrano come 3 infiltrazioni, eseguite a distanza di 30 giorni l'una dall'altra, siano ben tollerate e detrminano un elevato grado di soddisfazione da parte del paziente, in termini di efficacia per almeno 6 mesi. The inequality in access to cyberspace due to age at the beginning of the twenty-first century was followed by an economic crisis that intensified many socio-labor dynamics. Through a contextualization with INE data and a qualitative sample, the following work tries to capture the attitudes about ICT related to their previous labor trajectories on those over 45 years of age; and, on the other hand, its introduction to cyberspace from work as a conditioner in the perception of crisis, the maintenance of employment or their way out to retirement.
