El proceso de configuración de la Unión Europea no ha de verse como el camino hacia una entidad política homogénea, sino como una puesta en valor de la especificidad de cada pueblo: la idea de «unidad en la diversidad». Resulta más productivo identificar y atender a estas diversidades que buscar los rasgos de las trayectorias históricas que convergen en determinados momentos. Así, el uso del concepto «raíces europeas» nos remite a un proceso de integración que va modificando las bases de los primeros pasos de la construcción de la Unión, dado que las raíces fortalecen el tronco (botánico y político-cultural) a la vez que se extienden por la superficie, dando lugar a nuevos brotes

Recent accomplishments in advancement of accurate astrometric reference star catalogues, development of digital imaging technology, high accuracy tiltmeter technology, and geocentric coordinate availability provided by GNSS, have made possible accurate, fast and automated determination of vertical deflections using astrometric methods. In addition to immuno-modulating therapies patients benefit from symptomatic approaches like intrathecal corticosteroid therapy (ICT), which is frequently applied in a growing number of centers in Germany. The Cognitive reserve (CR) hypothesis was put forward to account for the variability in cognitive performance of patients with similar degrees of brain pathology. Compensatory neural activity within the frontal lobes has often been associated with CR. For the first time we investigated the independent effects of two CR proxies, education and NART IQ, on measures of executive function, fluid intelligence, speed of information processing, verbal short term memory (vSTM), naming, and perception in a sample of 86 patients with focal, unilateral frontal lesions and 142 healthy controls. Functionally, both molecules act as counter-receptors for surface structures (i.e. VCAM-1/CD106 and CD31) usually expressed by the endothelial/stromal component of tumor micro-environment.
