Spanish Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics editors Conflicts of Interest declaration 2020-2022

2020

Editorial decisions: highlighting the role of systematic reviews

2018

Biosorption of green and black tea polyphenols into Saccharomyces cerevisiae improves their bioaccessibility

2015

Infusions of green tea (GT) and black tea (BT) and the use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a natural matrix were employed to check the impact of biosorption on the possible fate of tea polyphenols in the gastrointestinal tract in terms of bioaccessibility and total antioxidant capacity (TEAC and ORAC assays). The maximum biosorption yields obtained were 47.61 ± 11.57 and 99.68 ± 5.25 mg/g from GT and BT infusions, respectively. A significant increase (p < 0.05) in the recovery of phenolic compounds was shown after in vitro digestion. The bioaccessible fractions generally exhibited higher antioxidant capacities in both tea infusions and suspensions of S. cerevisiae versus non-digested samples…

Modulation of biotransformation and elimination systems by BM-21, an aqueous ethanolic extract from Thalassia testudinum, and thalassiolin B on human…

2012

Abstract BM-21 is an extract obtained from Thalassia testudinum marine plant with pharmacological properties. The effects of BM-21 and thalassiolin B (TB), its main component, on enzyme and transport proteins involved in drug metabolism and excretion in human cultured hepatocytes were evaluated. Cells were exposed for 48 h to sub-cytotoxic concentrations of BM-21 or TB. Effects on P450 isoforms revealed significant reductions of CYP1A2, 3A4 and 2D6 activities (up to 56%, 66% and 44% inhibition, respectively) after exposition to BM-21, no changes on CYP2A6 and 2C9 activities. TB produced a concentration-dependent reduction of all P450 activities. In addition, a decrease in total UGT and UGT2…

Miksi työmarkkinoiden ja kielikoulutuksen tarpeet eivät kohtaa?

2012

Luopumalla eri kielten lokeroajattelusta ja omaksumalla uudenlainen näkemys kielten opiskeluun tuotettaisiin suurempaa kielitaitohyötyä niin työelämässä kuin sen ulkopuolellakin. Language for Jobs työryhmä on etsinyt ratkaisuja kielitaitotarpeiden ja kielikoulutuksen tarjonnan kohtaamisen ongelmiin.

Caliper navigation for craniotomy planning of convexity targets.

2021

Introduction A technique to localize a radiological target on the head convexity fast and with acceptable precision is sufficient for surgeries of superficial intracranial lesions, and of help in the setting of emergency surgery, computer navigation breakdown, limited resources and education. We present a caliper technique based on fundamental geometry, with inexpensive and globally available tools (conventional CT or MRI image viewer, calculator, caliper). Methods The distances of the radiological target from two landmarks (nasion and porus acusticus externus) are assessed with an image viewer and Pythagoras’ theorem. The two distances are then marked around the landmarks onto the head of…

Self-phase modulation-based 2R regenerator including pulse compression and offset filtering for 42.6 Gbit/s RZ-33% transmission systems

2009

International audience; We report on the experimental and theoretical study of a self-phase-modulation-based regenerator at 42.6 Gbit/s with a return-to-zero 33% format. We point out some detrimental effects such as intrachannel interactions and Brillouin scattering. An efficient solution, relying on a self-phase-modulation-based pulse compressor in combination with the regenerator, is proposed to overcome these detrimental phenomena. The experimental demonstration shows the effectiveness of a wavelength-transparent regenerator at 42.6 Gbit/s with a sensitivity-improvement of more than 5 dB and an eye-opening improvement of 2.3 dB in a back-to-back configuration, as well as a 10 times maxim…
