Adiabatic evolution and shape resonances
2017
Motivated by a problem of one mode approximation for a non-linear evolution with charge accumulation in potential wells, we consider a general linear adiabatic evolution problem for a semi-classical Schrödinger operator with a time dependent potential with a well in an island. In particular, we show that we can choose the adiabatic parameter ε \varepsilon with ln ε ≍ − 1 / h \ln \varepsilon \asymp -1/h , where h h denotes the semi-classical parameter, and get adiabatic approximations of exact solutions over a time interval of length ε − N \varepsilon ^{-N} with an error O ( ε N ) {\mathcal O}(\varepsilon ^N) . Here N > 0 N>0 is arbitrary. \center Résumé \endcenter Motivés par un pro…
Dependence of the layer heat potentials upon support perturbations
2023
We prove that the integral operators associated with the layer heat potentials depend smoothly upon a parametrization of the support of integration. The analysis is carried out in the optimal H\"older setting.
p-Laplacian type equations involving measures
2003
This is a survey on problems involving equations $-\operatorname{div}{\Cal A}(x,\nabla u)=\mu$, where $\mu$ is a Radon measure and ${\Cal A}:\bold {R}^n\times\bold R^n\to \bold R^n$ verifies Leray-Lions type conditions. We shall discuss a potential theoretic approach when the measure is nonnegative. Existence and uniqueness, and different concepts of solutions are discussed for general signed measures.
Infinitely many solutions for p-Laplacian equation involving double critical terms and boundary geometry
2014
Let $1p^{2}+p,a(0)>0$ and $\Omega$ satisfies some geometry conditions if $0\in\partial\Omega$, say, all the principle curvatures of $\partial\Omega$ at $0$ are negative, then the above problem has infinitely many solutions.
Uniqueness and stability of an inverse problem for a semi-linear wave equation
2020
We consider the recovery of a potential associated with a semi-linear wave equation on $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, $n\geq 1$. We show a H\"older stability estimate for the recovery of an unknown potential $a$ of the wave equation $\square u +a u^m=0$ from its Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. We show that an unknown potential $a(x,t)$, supported in $\Omega\times[t_1,t_2]$, of the wave equation $\square u +a u^m=0$ can be recovered in a H\"older stable way from the map $u|_{\partial \Omega\times [0,T]}\mapsto \langle\psi,\partial_\nu u|_{\partial \Omega\times [0,T]}\rangle_{L^2(\partial \Omega\times [0,T])}$. This data is equivalent to the inner product of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map with a measurement fun…
A minimization problem with free boundary and its application to inverse scattering problems
2023
We study a minimization problem with free boundary, resulting in hybrid quadrature domains for the Helmholtz equation, as well as some application to inverse scattering problem.
Volume growth, capacity estimates, p-parabolicity and sharp integrability properties of p-harmonic Green functions
2023
In a complete metric space equipped with a doubling measure supporting a $p$-Poincar\'e inequality, we prove sharp growth and integrability results for $p$-harmonic Green functions and their minimal $p$-weak upper gradients. We show that these properties are determined by the growth of the underlying measure near the singularity. Corresponding results are obtained also for more general $p$-harmonic functions with poles, as well as for singular solutions of elliptic differential equations in divergence form on weighted $\mathbf{R}^n$ and on manifolds. The proofs are based on a new general capacity estimate for annuli, which implies precise pointwise estimates for $p$-harmonic Green functions…
Kernel estimates for nonautonomous Kolmogorov equations with potential term
2014
Using time dependent Lyapunov functions, we prove pointwise upper bounds for the heat kernels of some nonautonomous Kolmogorov operators with possibly unbounded drift and diffusion coefficients and a possibly unbounded potential term.
Boundary regularity for degenerate and singular parabolic equations
2013
We characterise regular boundary points of the parabolic $p$-Laplacian in terms of a family of barriers, both when $p>2$ and $1<p<2$. Due to the fact that $p\not=2$, it turns out that one can multiply the $p$-Laplace operator by a positive constant, without affecting the regularity of a boundary point. By constructing suitable families of barriers, we give some simple geometric conditions that ensure the regularity of boundary points.
Loomis-Whitney inequalities in Heisenberg groups
2021
This note concerns Loomis-Whitney inequalities in Heisenberg groups $\mathbb{H}^n$: $$|K| \lesssim \prod_{j=1}^{2n}|\pi_j(K)|^{\frac{n+1}{n(2n+1)}}, \qquad K \subset \mathbb{H}^n.$$ Here $\pi_{j}$, $j=1,\ldots,2n$, are the vertical Heisenberg projections to the hyperplanes $\{x_j=0\}$, respectively, and $|\cdot|$ refers to a natural Haar measure on either $\mathbb{H}^n$, or one of the hyperplanes. The Loomis-Whitney inequality in the first Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^1$ is a direct consequence of known $L^p$ improving properties of the standard Radon transform in $\mathbb{R}^2$. In this note, we show how the Loomis-Whitney inequalities in higher dimensional Heisenberg groups can be deduced…
