This paper reports some of the findings from a study that aimed to analyse the importance attributed by secondary education teachers from the province of Castellón (Spain) to teaching competencies and to establish professional profiles from their responses. The survey was based on a purposely designed questionnaire answered by a representative sample of 136 secondary teachers from Castellón, representing 23 school departments. PURPOSE: to show the relevance of peripheral nerve ultrasound imaging as a supplementary technique in a clinical neurophysiological evaluation. Inflammation underlies both onset and perpetuation of atherosclerosis. Plasma lipoproteins transport the platelet-activating factor-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) with potentially anti-inflammatory activities. Our aim was to determine whether PAF-AH activity was associated with inflammatory markers and with coronary artery disease (CAD). PAF-AH activity and a panel of inflammatory mediators were measured in plasma of 496 patients with CAD and in 477 controls; 276 patients presented with stable angina pectoris and 220 with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The aim of this work is to establish correlations between the values of the Brabender Farinograph and the E6 Haubert Flourgraph. We analyzed two types of flours, white flour with additives (WF add) and brown flour with additives (BF add). The following parameters were varied: water absorption capacity, development time, the stability, the degree of softening and the quality number of wheat and potato flour mixture. A statistical analysis was made from linear regression equations. The obtained values for the E6 Flourgraph are comparable with Farinograph values and units. Mathematics Competence Level: The Contribution of Non-symbolic and Spatial Magnitude Comparison Skills.

Magnitude comparison skills have been related to mathematics competence, although results in this area vary. The current study aimed to describe the performance of 75 children (aged 4-5 years) in two comparison tasks; and examine the strength of the relationship between each of the two tasks and mathematics competence level (MCL). Participants were assessed with the Early Numeracy Test which provides a global MCL score. Magnitude comparison skills were assessed with two tasks: a non-symbolic number comparison task and a spatial comparison task.
