Background. Angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) regulates lipoprotein metabolism by modulating extracellular lipases. Loss-of function mutations in ANGPTL3 gene cause familial combined hypolipidemia (FHBL2). The mode of inheritance and hepatic and vascular consequences of FHBL2 have not been fully elucidated. To get further insights on these aspects, we re-evaluated the clinical and the biochemical characteristics of all reported cases of FHBL2. Methods and Results. One hundred fteen FHBL2 individuals carrying 13 different mutations in the ANGPTL3 gene (14 homozygotes, 8 compound heterozygotes and 93 heterozygotes) and 402 controls were considered. Aptamēri ir oligonukleotīdi, kas savas trīsdimensionālās formas dēļ spēj saistīties ar specifiskiem mērķiem. Tie tiek plaši pētīti kā palīgs zāļu piegādāšanai vai slimību diagnostikā. Pēdējos gados padziļināti ir pētīta to pielietošana vēža terapijā. Bakalaura darba mērķis bija noskaidrot, aptamēra konstrukta AS1411 un Seq36 afinitāti uz gaišo nieru karcinomas šūnām. Lai pārliecinātos par AS1411 un Seq36 aptamēru konstrukta veiksmīgu izveidošanu, tika pielietota gela elektroforēze. Lai noteiktu cik funkcionāls un cik liela afinitāte ir uz gaišo nieru karcinomas šūnām, tika pielietota plūsmas citometrija. IGR J17503–2636: a candidate supergiant fast X-ray transient

IGR J17503-2636 is a hard X-ray transient discovered by INTEGRAL on 2018 August 11. This was the first ever reported X-ray emission from this source. Following the discovery, follow-up observations were carried out with Swift, Chandra, NICER, and NuSTAR. We report in this paper the analysis and results obtained from all these X-ray data. Based on the fast variability in the X-ray domain, the spectral energy distribution in the 0.5-80 keV energy range, and the reported association with a highly reddened OB supergiant at ~10 kpc, we conclude that IGR J17503-2636 is most likely a relatively faint new member of the supergiant fast X-ray transients.
