Nicotine receptors do not modulate the 3H-noradrenaline release from the isolated rat heart evoked by sympathetic nerve stimulation.
1982
Isolated rat hearts with the right sympathetic nerves attached were perfused at a constant flow rate of 7 ml/min with Tyrode's solution. (-)-3H-Noradrenaline (final concentration 10–13.9 nM) was infused for 10 min to label the noradrenaline stores. After wash-out the sympathetic nerves were stimulated electrically (3 Hz, 180 impulses, 1 ms, 20–30 mA) three times (S1–S3) at intervals of 15 min. 3H-Noradrenaline and its metabolites were determined by liquid scintillation counting according to Graefe et al. (1973). Both, nicotine 50 μM and p-aminophenethyltrimethylammonium (PAPETA) 30 μM, enhanced the 3H-noradrenaline overflow in the absence of nerve stimulation. The effect of PAPETA was bipha…
[3H]-DA release evoked by low pH medium and internal H+ accumulation in rat hypothalamic synaptosomes: involvement of calcium ions
2003
The pH fluctuations have been often interpreted as an insufficient regulation or as a consequence of the onset of pathological events, such as ischemia, in which a significant decrease in pH levels occurs. Neurotransmitter release appears to be affected by pH drop significantly. In this study, we investigated the effect of an extracellular and an intracellular acidification on tritiated dopamine release ([3H]-DA release), from superfused rat hypothalamic synaptosomes. When compared to basal release, extracellular acidification, due to a reduction in the external pH of the nominally carbonic-free superfusion media, provoked a significant increase in [3H]-DA release that showed a sensitivenes…
Alumina supported Pt(1%)/Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 monolith: Remarkable stabilization of ceria–zirconia solution towards CeAlO3 formation operated by Pt under red…
2009
Abstract A structured Pt(1 wt%)/ceria–zirconia/alumina catalyst and the metal-free ceria–zirconia/alumina were prepared, by dip-coating, over a cordierite monolithic support. XRD analyses and Rietveld refinements of the structural data demonstrate that in the Pt supported catalysts ceria–zirconia is present as a Ce 0.6 Zr 0.4 O 2 homogeneous solid solution and that the deposition over the cordierite doesn’t produce any structural modification. Moreover no Pt sintering occurs. By comparing the XRD patterns recorded on Pt/ceria–zirconia/alumina and ceria–zirconia/alumina after three redox cycles, it results that Pt, favouring the structural reorganization of the ceria–zirconia into one cubic …
Maximal Cohen-Macaulay Modules over the Affine Cone of the Simple Node
2005
A concrete description of all graded maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules of rank one and two over the affine cone of the simple node (a non-isolated singularity) is given. For this purpose we construct an alghoritm that provides extensions of MCM modules over an arbitrary hypersurface.
Modulation of accessory cell function of immortalized bone marrow-derived macrophages by granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor.
1993
To generate cloned macrophage populations with sensitivity towards granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMM phi) were immortalized by transformation with SV40. A panel of transformed clones was established. The majority of clones represented independently derived transformants, as evidenced by restriction fragment length polymorphism using genomic DNA digested with EcoRI and TaqI and the 5.2 kb SV40 DNA for hybridization analysis. The cells belong to the macrophage lineage according to several criteria, e.g. the presence of nonspecific esterase, their phagocytic capacity and their morphology. Many clones were potent antigen-presenting c…
Pyrazolobenzotriazinones Derivatives as COX Inhibitors: Synthesis Biological Activity and Molecular Modeling Studies
2010
Pyrazolylbenzotriazinones are endowed with structural analogy with the COX-2 selective inhibitor celecoxib. Considering that our research group has long been interested in the 3-pyrazolyl-substituted benzotriazinones as anti-inflammatory agents, six new pyrazolylbenzotriazinone derivatives 16a-c and 18a-c have been prepared by reacting the opportune ethyl 5-(2-aminobenzamido)-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate or 5-(2-aminobenzamido)-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxyic acid with sodium nitrite in glacial acetic acid. The biological studies revealed a good pharmacological profile for some pyrazolylbenzotriazinones and, in the case of the ethyl 5-(4-oxo-1,2,3-benzotriazin-3(4H)-y…
Pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine derivatives as COX-2 selective inhibitors: synthesis and molecular modelling studies.
2009
The pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine system shows a multitude of interesting pharmacological properties. Owing to the potential anti-inflammatory activity of 5-benzamido-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin- 4-one derivatives and considering the easy synthesis of this class of compounds, a set of new 5- benzamido-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-ones has been prepared in 42-80% yields by reacting 5- aminopyrazole-4(N-benzoyl)carbohydrazide derivatives and the opportune triethylorthoesters. Compounds 8a, b, 10a–d, and 11a, b revealed a superior inhibitory profile against COX-2, when compared to that of reference standards NS398 and indomethacin. Molecular modelling studies confirmed the obtained biological result…
Tower sets and other configurations with the Cohen-Macaulay property
2014
Abstract Some well-known arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay configurations of linear varieties in P r as k-configurations, partial intersections and star configurations are generalized by introducing tower schemes. Tower schemes are reduced schemes that are a finite union of linear varieties whose support set is a suitable finite subset of Z + c called tower set. We prove that the tower schemes are arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay and we compute their Hilbert function in terms of their support. Afterwards, since even in codimension 2 not every arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay squarefree monomial ideal is the ideal of a tower scheme, we slightly extend this notion by defining generalized tower schemes …

The bin-uncorrelated systematic error per bin of Dalitz plot, for 3-hadron chains with mass below 0.59 GeV. Coordinates X = sqrt(3)(T0-T2)/sum(T) , Y = 3T1/sum(T) - 1. T0/T1/T2 stand for kinetic energy of hadrons in the rest frame of the triplet ( hadrons 0 and 2 form like-sign pair).
