This topic has been given more attention, as more concrete constructions and reinforced concrete constructions have been preserved. In this thesis a case-study were done of Ingierstrand bad. Most theories of the evolution of virulence concentrate on obligatory host-pathogen relationship. Yet, many pathogens replicate in the environment outside-host where they compete with non-pathogenic forms. Thus, replication and competition in the outside-host environment may have profound influence on the evolution of virulence and disease dynamics. This study aimed to examine changes and educational inequalities in suicide mortality among working-age men in the Baltic countries and Finland in relation to macroeconomic fluctuations. Methods We analysed changes in overall suicide mortality and by educational level between the 2000–2003, 2004–2007, 2008–2011 and 2012–2015 periods among men aged 30–64 years using census-linked longitudinal mortality data. Docking of indolo- and pyrrolo-pyrimidines to DNA. New DNA-interactive polycycles from amino-indoles/pyrroles and BMMA

New indolo- and pyrrolo-pyrimidines of type 1-4 were studied for their ability to form stable complexes with DNA fragments. The calculated free energies of binding were found in the range -8.39 ÷ -16.72 Kcal/mol. The docking studies revealed a common binding mode with the chromophore intercalated between GC base pairs whereas the side chain lies along the minor groove.
Heteroarildihidropirimidīnu ietekmes uz HBV kapsīdu savākšanos pētījumi zīdītāju šūnu kultūrās

Tiek lēsts, ka 257 miljoniem cilvēku ir hroniska Hepatīta B vīrusa (HBV) infekcija un līdzšinējā terapija nevar nodrošināt pilnīgu vīrusa izskaušanu. Darbs veltīts jaunu pretvīrusu savienojumu - kapsīdu savākšanās efektoru - atlasei un raksturošanai zīdītāju šūnu kultūrās. Efektīvai HBV kapsīdas sintēzei šūnās izmantoja rekombinanto alfavīrusa replikonu. Ar natīvās agarozes gela elektroforēzi un imunoblotu tika izvērtēta kapsīdu veidošanās šūnās astoņu jauno savienojumu klātbūtnē. Atrasts, ka četri savienojumi -AS-M-II, AS-M-III, V4-93 un V4-84-s, ietekmē kapsīdu savākšanos. Identification of Novel Anthracycline Resistance Genes and Their Inhibitors

Differentially expressed genes have been previously identified by us in multidrug-resistant tumor cells mainly resistant to doxorubicin. In the present study, we exemplarily focused on some of these genes to investigate their causative relationship with drug resistance. HMOX1, NEIL2, and PRKCA were overexpressed by lentiviral-plasmid-based transfection of HEK293 cells. An in silico drug repurposing approach was applied using virtual screening and molecular docking of FDA-approved drugs to identify inhibitors of these new drug-resistant genes.
