A User-centered system with blockchain in the Norwegian healthcare: From a security and privacy perspective
2021
Master's thesis in Cyber security (IS507) With the current Covid-19 pandemic roaming the world, the IT attacks on the healthcare sector has increased five folds from 2019 to 2020. The Norwegian healthcare system is divided into different regions with their own systems respectfully. This fragmentation causes great communication issues between systems and exposes the transmitted data for attacks. To better combat this situation and improve upon the fragmented healthcare systems, a restructure is needed. In this thesis we explore the possibility of using blockchain technology as the foundation of a system that unifies the systems in the Norwegian healthcare sector. We adopt a Design Science Re…
Norwegian cybersecurity guidelines : A case study of Norwegian security agencies
2021
Master's thesis in Cyber security (IS507) In recent years, several countries in Europe have focused on developing their own national solutions for cybersecurity. Norwegian security authorities have also developed national guidelines to develop a common national solution to meet the ever-increasing focus on Euro-pean and international regulations within cybersecurity. The study sheds light on elements related to the issue at both a national and international level and seeks to discover how national cybersecurity guidelines can emerge in the cyber landscape in the coming years. The study was carried out as a qualitative method using a case study in Norwegian security authorities. In addition,…
Investigating Cybersecurity Awareness in SME Organisations
2021
Master's thesis in Cyber security (IS507) Cyberattack incidents against small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increase nowadays, thus cybersecurity awareness is becoming an important issue to enhance the security of the SME organisations. However, despite the importance of cybersecurity awareness in many organisations including SMEs, such awareness is not yet fully absorbed as day-to-day practice in organisations. In this study, we have investigated cybersecurity awareness in small to medium-sized organisations (SMEs) in Norway. The purpose of this study is to provide knowledge, empirical data and relevant literature about cybersecurity awareness for SMEs that operate with security protoc…
Otnetic: A Cyber Range Training Platform Developed for the Norwegian Energy Sector
2021
Master's thesis in Cyber security (IS507) As cyber attacks have become increasingly frequent and complex, the need for effective cyber security training has become essential. This master thesis was developed in collaboration with the client organization NC-Spectrum, with the objective of developing an alternative training program utilizing cyber ranges and gamified training for OT-personnel in the Nor-wegian energy sector. The need additional training was identified by the client organization initially, and reinforced through the findings from the literature review and interviews conducted as part of this thesis. Current training methods commonly use one-way communication, which has been sh…
Resilience in Critical infrastructure within the energy sector of Norway
2021
Master's thesis in Cyber security (IS507) This thesis investigates what are the characteristics of resilience within the energy sector, as well as what are the "best” known practices being used to increase awareness of the employees. By looking at the existing literature and finding differences between how the energy sector in Norway vs other nations approaches resilience. There is a difference in Norway's more decentralized power grid, where many smaller power stations supply energy, compared to other nation with single large power station. This influences how they will approach resilience. The study uses a qualitative research approach, with semi-structured interviews to gather data from …
Interaspecific chemical variability and highlighting of chemotypes of leaf essential oils from Ravensara aromatica Sonnerat, a tree endemic to Madaga…
2006
Ravensara aromatica Sonnerat is a tree endemic to Madagascar. The essential oil extracted from the leaves is used in aromatherapy. Previous chemical studies have generated some confusion with regard to the chemical composition of this essential oil. In order to eliminate this uncertainty, we undertook a systematic evaluation of the chemical composition of essential oils from leaves of this species. The study focused on 28 individual samples formally identified as R. aromatica. The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC and GC–MS. It was possible to distinguish four groups of trees through principal components analysis and agglomerative hierarchical clustering a…
Sikkert valgsystem over Internett
2001
Middleware for transparent TCP connection migration : masking faulty TCP-based services
2004
Masteroppgave i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi 2004 - Høgskolen i Agder, Grimstad Mission critical TCP-based services create a demand for robust and fault tolerant TCP communication. Sense Intellifield monitors drill operations on rig sites offshore. Critical TCP-based services need to be available 24 hours, 7 days a week, and the service providers need to tolerate server failure. How to make TCP robust and fault tolerant without modifying existing infrastructure like existing client/server applications, services, TCP stacks, kernels, or operating systems is the motivation of this thesis. We present a new middleware approach, first of its kind, to allow TCP-based services to survi…
Morphological characterisation of soil structure in tilled fields: from a diagnosis method to the modelling of structural changes over time
2004
Characterisation of soit structure within the tilled layer of cultivated fields is crucial because the importance of this soil characteristic on the biological, chemical and physical properties of the soil and its repercussions on water cycle, root growth and functioning. We present in this paper a method for field characterisation of soil structure. This method, practised since the 1970s, was designed for field diagnosis of the effects of cropping systems on soil structure. It is based on a stratification of the observation face of a pit dug perpendicular to the direction of tillage and traffic: spatial compartments are distinguished, according to the nature of the mechanical stresses they…
