The purpose of the research was a screening of proteases with elastase activity among Bacillus thuringiensis strains, their isolation, partially purification, study of physicochemical properties and insecticide activity in relation to the larvae of the Colorado beetle. The objects of the investigation were 18 strains of B. thuringiensis, isolated from different sources: sea water, dry biological product "Bitoksibatsillin" and also from natural populations of Colorado beetles of the Crimea, Kherson, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhiia regions of Ukraine. In the present work, the fermentation of simultaneous production of ethanol and levan by Zymomonas mobilis grown on different growth media has been studied. Yeast extract, rye stillage or sugar beet molasses stillage were used as additives to the basic sucrose media and the chemical composition, including vitamins, of the cultivation liquids have been determined. It has been shown that 0.5 % of yeast extract dry weight additive could be substituted by 10.0 % of native stillage additive. It was established that molasses stillage stimulates the ethanol synthesis, but rye stillage additive is more preferable for levan production. Effect of Oxidized Potato Starch on the Physicochemical Properties of Soy Protein Isolate-Based Edible Films

The influence of oxidized starch on the physicochemical properties of cast soy protein isolate films is determined in this study. Films were cast from heated (70 °C for 20 min) alkaline (pH=10) aqueous solutions of 7 % soy protein isolate containing 50 % (by mass) glycerol as a plasticizer and different levels of added oxidized starch (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 %, by mass). Työn ja perheen ristiriidat kolmannen sektorin palkkatyössä

Kolmannella sektorilla tehtävän palkkatyön määrä on kasvanut nopeasti viimeisen kymmenen vuoden aikana. Vuonna 2011 sektorin palkkatyöpanos oli jo noin 77 000 henkilötyövuotta. Tässä artikkelissa tutkimme työn ja perheen yhteensovittamista ja siihen vaikuttavia tekijöitä kolmannen sektorin palkkatyössä. Aineistoina käytämme kolmannen sektorin palkansaajista koostuvaa aineistoa (N = 1 412) ja Tilastokeskuksen keräämä työolotutkimusaineistoa (N = 4 378). Tulostemme mukaan kolmannen sektorin palkansaajien keskuudessa työn ja perheen ristiriidat ovat selvästi muita työmarkkinoita yleisempiä. Tieteellisen tutkimuksen avoimesta saatavuudesta (open access, OA) sekä avoimesta julkaisemisesta on tullut viime vuosina eräs keskeisistä kysymyksistä tieteellisen julkaisemisen kentällä. Itse tieteen avoimuuden ideaali, eli ajatus siitä, että tutkimustulosten tulisi olla tiedeyhteisölle avoimesti saatavissa sekä vapaasti käytettävissä, ei ole kuitenkaan mikään uusi asia (ks. Merton 1973). Tämä avoimuuden ideaali kytkeytyy keskeisellä tavalla myös tieteen kehittymisen ja itsekorjautuvuuden mahdollisuuksiin (Willinsky 2006).
