Shear design of high strength concrete beams in MRFs

This paper presents the criteria for the shear design of high strength concrete (HSC) beams in moment resisting frames (MRFs). The formulation of an analytical model is provided for the case of beams with longitudinal reinforcement in the presence of transverse stirrups. The model is of additive type, in the meaning that the shear resistance of the beam is evaluated as the sum of several contributions. In particular, the contribution of concrete, longitudinal rebars, and transversal reinforcement are taken into account. This paper is part of a general research project on the role that chemistry played in transforming experimental pharmacology during nineteenth-century Spain. Within this general framework, this paper deals with the main characteristics of chemistry textbooks written by Pedro Gutiérrez Bueno (1745-1822), a pharmacist who taught chemistry in several institutions during the late eighteenth century. In an earlier paper, we have analysed the intended public of the first edition of Gutiérrez Bueno`s textbook. Promocijas darbā „Vācu civilās pārvaldes ekonomiskā politika okupētajā Latvijā 1941 – 1944” tiek pētīta vācu ekonomiskā politika Latvijas ģenerālapgabalā, vācu civilās okupācijas pārvaldes pastāvēšanas laikam nosakot pētījuma hronoloģisko ietvaru. Darba galvenā uzmanība tiek pievērsta okupācijas varas saimnieciskai koncepcijai un tās izpausmēm ekonomikā, tostarp lauksaimniecības politikā, ilgstošajā reprivatizācijas jautājumā, rūpniecībā. Resum: El concepte de vida de clausura plantejat per santa Teresa va determinar la naturalesa de les edificacions escomeses en el si de la congregació de carmelites descalços. La senzillesa i l’estretor requerits per la fundadora en l’establiment dels nous convents esdevingueren preceptes d’obligat compliment per part de les autoritats de l’orde, i quedaren recollits en les diverses constitucions internes generades al llarg dels segles XVI, XVII i XVIII. Aquest article analitza els models constructius establerts des dels inicis de l’existència de la congregació i la manera en què van ser aplicats amb posterioritat.
