We examined the effects of self-compassion in response to dietary lapses on outcomes relevant to weight-loss strivings using a longitudinal design. Abstract The aim of the present study was to compare the oxygen transfer efficiency in a conventional activated sludge and a membrane bioreactor system. The oxygen transfer was evaluated by means of the oxygen transfer coefficient and α-factor calculation, under different total suspended solids concentration, extracellular polymeric substances, sludge apparent viscosity and size of the flocs. Abstract Objectives This paper examines the stories of Patrick, a man living with cancer and a spinal cord injury. Design An intrinsic case study was used to address Patrick's experiences. The design of the study is underpinned by narrative dialogism. Method Photo-elicitation interviews were conducted. Visual and verbal data were analysed using a dialogical narrative analysis. Results Patrick aligned his experiences with a story titled Anabasis to organize and express them. The study investigates and compares various methods that aim to diagnose Rossby wave trains with the help of Hovm¨ oller diagrams. Three groups of methods are distinguished: The first group contains trough-and-ridge Hovm¨ oller diagrams of the meridional wind; they provide full phase information, but differ in the method for latitudinal averaging or weighting.
