After first describing the history and context of Cohesion policies of the EU, the literature on European identity studies is reviewed. This discussion develops an economic utilitarian argument, that citizens in Europe develop their identification with the EU partly on rational considerations, and that the added quality of life provided by investments of the EU would positively influence their European identity. Restoration of a polymateric sculpture of the immaculate conception

This study focuses on the intervention methodologies applied on a polymateric polychrome sculpture of the Immaculate Conception (18th century), located inside the chapel of the Oratorio dei Falegnami in Palermo. The peculiarity of this artefact is the employment of two different supports, upon which both the ground and paint layers are laid: a wooden one, carved and prepared, for the execution of the anatomical parts, and a textile one, sewn, pinned on and stiffened with glue, for the garments. Les résultats montrent l'existence d'une forte autocorrélation spatiale globale et locale ainsi qu'une forte hétérogénéité dans la distribution des richesses. Earth resistance measurements in urban contexts: Problems and possible solutions

Both EN 50522 and IEEE Std. 81 propose the Fall of Potential Method (FPM) to carry out the measurement of the resistance to earth of an Earthing System (ES). However, in urban areas, the recommended distances between the ES and auxiliary electrodes are not easy to respect, due to the presence of buildings and tarmac. Moreover, unknown buried metallic parts, as well as the interconnection among the ESs made by the Distributor System Operator, could modify the earth potential profile of the area, affecting the measurement results.
