El objeto de este estudio histórico-contable es la sociedad Trenor y Cía., una de lasempresas más relevantes en el contexto de la economía valenciana del siglo XIX. Durante elperíodo 1851-1870 ocupaba el segundo lugar de las compañías comerciales valencianas porcifra de capital social, que era de 8.000.000 reales de vellón, y el cuarto lugar por cantidadsatisfecha de contribución comercial.La sociedad colectiva Trenor y Cía. fue constituida en 1838 por Tomás TrenorKeating, de origen irlandés, y estuvo regida a lo largo de su historia por tres generaciones deesta familia, siendo disuelta en 1926.

Fluorescein for resection of high-grade gliomas: A safety study control in a single center and review of the literature

Background: The importance of a complete resection of high-grade gliomas (HGGs) has been highlighted in scientific literature, in order to limit tumor recurrence and above all to improve disease-free survival rates. Several fluorescent biomarkers have been tested to improve intraoperative identification of residual tumor; 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and fluorescein sodium (FS) are now starting to play a central role in glioma surgery. We performed a retrospective analysis on 47 patients operated for HGGs. Here we report our preliminary data. El De Proprietate Animalium de Manuel Files es un poema didáctico del s. XIV que parafrasea libremente varias fuentes literarias de contenido zoológico, entre las que destaca la Historia Animalium de Claudio Eliano. Un análisis detallado de los procedimientos de sustitución léxica realizado por el autor, apoyado en la consulta de los diccionarios bizantinos, permite reconocer su originalidad compositiva, la riqueza expresiva de su vocabulario poético, pero también la clara conciencia de la existencia de diferentes niveles de lengua y de los muy diversos registros utilizados por el autor.

El presente estudio pretende resolver la controversia en torno a la identidad y procedencia del poeta Filóxeno, célebre ditirambógrafo del siglo V-IV a.C. Para ello, hemos recopilado todos los testimonios que citan a personajes con el nombre de Filóxeno desde la primera mención de Aristófanes. La investigación ha revelado que existen varios individuos con el mismo nombre y rasgos comunes. No obstante, el examen de estos testimonios revela la existencia de un único autor de ditirambos: Filóxeno de Citera. Se pretende llamar la atención sobre un par de frases que aparecen justo hacia la mitad de la controvertida doxografía de Aristóteles que se puede leer en las Vidas y doctrinas de los filósofos más ilustres de Diógenes Laercio V 31, y que desde luego no corresponden a ningún sistema doxográfico conocido. Como sucede no pocas veces en la obra laerciana, la misma apreciación sobre si el filósofo debe o no enamorarse y contraer matrimonio se repite idéntica en otras doxografías completamente distintas: la cirenaica (DL II 91), la estoica (DL VII 129) y la epicúrea (DL X 118).
