Frames and representing systems in Fréchet spaces and their duals
2014
[EN] Frames and Bessel sequences in Fr\'echet spaces and their duals are defined and studied. Their relation with Schauder frames and representing systems is analyzed. The abstract results presented here, when applied to concrete spaces of analytic functions, give many examples and consequences about sampling sets and Dirichlet series expansions.
Some new results on integration for multifunction
2018
It has been proven in previous papers that each Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integrable multifunction with weakly compact values can be represented as a sum of one of its selections and a Pettis integrable multifunction. We prove here that if the initial multifunction is also Bochner measurable and has absolutely continuous variational measure of its integral, then it is a sum of a strongly measurable selection and of a variationally Henstock integrable multifunction that is also Birkhoff integrable.
Removable sets for intrinsic metric and for holomorphic functions
2019
We study the subsets of metric spaces that are negligible for the infimal length of connecting curves; such sets are called metrically removable. In particular, we show that every totally disconnected set with finite Hausdorff measure of codimension 1 is metrically removable, which answers a question raised by Hakobyan and Herron. The metrically removable sets are shown to be related to other classes of "thin" sets that appeared in the literature. They are also related to the removability problems for classes of holomorphic functions with restrictions on the derivative.
Progress on nuclear reaction rates affecting the stellar production of 26Al
2023
Abstract The radioisotope 26Al is a key observable for nucleosynthesis in the Galaxy and the environment of the early Solar System. To properly interpret the large variety of astronomical and meteoritic data, it is crucial to understand both the nuclear reactions involved in the production of 26Al in the relevant stellar sites and the physics of such sites. These range from the winds of low- and intermediate-mass asymptotic giant branch stars; to massive and very massive stars, both their Wolf–Rayet winds and their final core-collapse supernovae (CCSN); and the ejecta from novae, the explosions that occur on the surface of a white dwarf accreting material from a stellar companion. Several r…
Pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms of anderson–fabry disease and possible new molecular addressed therapeutic strategies
2021
Anderson–Fabry disease (AFD) is a rare disease with an incidenceof approximately 1:117,000 male births. Lysosomal accumulation of globotriaosylceramide (Gb3) is the element characterizing Fabry disease due to a hereditary deficiency α-galactosidase A (GLA) enzyme. The accumulation of Gb3 causes lysosomal dysfunction that compromises cell signaling pathways. Deposition of sphingolipids occurs in the autonomic nervous system, dorsal root ganglia, kidney epithelial cells, vascular system cells, and myocardial cells, resulting in organ failure. This manuscript will review the molecular pathogenetic pathways involved in Anderson–Fabry disease and in its organ damage. Some studies reported that i…
Lattice operations on Rickart *-rings
2014
Various authors have investigated properties of the star order (introduced by M.P. Drazin in 1978) on algebras of matrices and of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space. Rickart involution rings (*-rings) are a certain algebraic analogue of von Neumann algebras, which cover these particular algebras. In 1983, M.F. Janowitz proved, in particular, that, in a star-ordered Rickart *-ring, every pair of elements bounded from above has a meet and also a join. However, the latter conclusion seems to be based on some wrong assumption. We show that the conclusion is nevertheless correct, and provide equational descriptions of joins and meets for this case. We also present various general proper…

Process parameters and surface treatment effects on the mechanical and corrosion resistance properties of Ti6Al4V components produced by laser powder…
2023
Laser powder bed fusion is one of the additive manufacturing technologies which has developed more rapidly in recent years as it enables the production of very complex geometries. Titanium alloys are among the most popular materials in the aerospace industry thanks to excellent mechanical and corrosion resistance. The corrosion behavior and mechanical properties of samples made of Ti6Al4V and characterized by the geometrical features typical of brackets were investigated taking into account the effects of process parameters on porosity and microstructure. A comparison between the corrosion resistance of samples with complex geometry (3D) and specimens characterized by simple geometry (FLAT)…
SiRNA-mediated selective inhibition of mutant keratin mRNAs responsible for the skin disorder pachyonychia congenita.
2006
RNA interference offers a novel approach for treating genetic disorders including the rare monogenic skin disorder pachyonychia congenita (PC). PC is caused by mutations in keratin 6a (K6a), K6b, K16, and K17 genes, including small deletions and single nucleotide changes. Transfection experiments of a fusion gene consisting of K6a and a yellow fluorescent reporter (YFP) resulted in normal keratin filament formation in transfected cells as assayed by fluorescence microscopy. Similar constructs containing a single nucleotide change (N171K) or a three-nucleotide deletion (N171del) showed keratin aggregate formation. Mutant-specific small inhibitory RNAs (siRNAs) effectively targeted these site…
