Taikuus, noituus ja kansanusko Ylä-Satakunnassa 1623-1750

Tutkielma käsittelee taikuuden- ja noituudenharjoittamista Ylä-Satakunnassa 1600-luvulla sekä 1700-luvun ensimmäisellä puoliskolla. Ylä-Satakunnan osalta näin kattavaa tutkimusta ei taikuudesta ja noituudesta ole aiemmin tehty. Vaikka alkuperäisaineisto muodostuu oikeuden pöytäkirjoista, tutkielmassa tarkastellaan taikuutta ja noituutta osana ihmisten arkea, eikä niinkään oikeudellisesta näkökulmasta. Säilyneen aineiston perusteella Ylä-Satakunnassa käytiin vuosina 1623–1750 69 taikuus- ja noituusoikeudenkäyntiä, joissa syytettyjä oli noin sata. Yli puolet syytetyistä oli miehiä. In this paper, five authors account for the rethinking of a conference as a series of postcards, letters, rules and silent moments so that traditional hierarchies of knowledge could be overturned or, at least, sidelined. We recount how the place we convened was enlisted as an actor and the dramas and devices we applied to encounter it. We use this accounting to problematize the conventional practices of goal-oriented meetings and co-authored papers as forms of academic meaning-making. Late Quaternary marine ostracods of the Basque Basin (S Bay of Biscay): taxonomy and distribution

Late Quaternary taxonomy and ecologic and age distributions of ostracods from the Basque Basin (S Bay of Biscay) are described. More than forty-four thousands ostracod specimens have been obtained from one hundred surface samples and core samples from six cores located in shelf and upper bathyal depths and other infrabathyal core as comparative deep reference. A total of 155 species have been taxonomically described, belonging to 67 genera. Most characteristic species (123) have been SEM figured, and ecologic-geographic distributions and ages have been provided for all species. The resulting database will be a useful help for palaeoceanographic and palaeoclimatologic studies of the region.
Additions to terrestrial flora of Tunisia: occurrence and taxonomic notes

We document new records of 11 vascular taxa. Some were found in the wild for the first time and, therefore, are new reports to terrestrial flora of Tunisia. One species, Ranunculus acris L., is reported for the first time for North Africa. Parietaria cretica L. is confirmed for North Africa. Details about the distribution and habitats of the 11 species are provided, and comments on their status and taxonomy are included.
Translingual quoting in journalism : behind the scenes of Swiss television newsrooms

This chapter focuses on translingual quoting (TQ), i.e. the subprocess of news-writing by which utterances from sources are both quoted and translated. Analyses of journalists’ mental and material activities suggest conceptualizing TQ as a complex and dynamic activity in which journalists’ individual and collective (e.g., institutional) language awareness, knowledge, and practices interact with multi-layered contexts of text production. Simple Summary Telomeric and rDNA sequence distribution on tamarins (New world monkeys, Primates) was analysed through molecular cytogenetics by fluorescence in situ hybridization. The mapping of Telomeric and rDNA probes on chromosomes was performed in order to clarify their localization and role in genome evolution. We found rDNA loci on the same homologs 19–22 on the analysed species with a different position in one of them named Leontopithecus rosalia, presumably as result of inversions. Performance of Lead-Acid Batteries with Nanostructured Electrodes at Different Temperature

In this work we present innovative lead-acid batteries with nanostructured electrodes, which are cycled in a wide range of temperatures typically of lead-acid commercial batteries (EN 61427-1: 2013). In comparison to parameters usually used to commercial batteries, much more stressful conditions in terms of cut-off, charge/discharge rate and discharge were imposed.
