Den kulturelle romalderen : En alternativ periodisering
2018

Masteroppgave i historie- Universitetet i Agder, 2012 The task for this master thesis, is to investigates the role of open-air museums have had on communities in Scandinavia. I do this through a comparative analysis of two museums, Jamtli in Österund, Sweden and Vest-Agder Museum Kristiansand, Norway. I look at how knowledge, interpretation and portrayal is disseminated in these museums, and examines how use of difficult topics are shown. I examine how the open-air museums occur, how they evolve and how they are in response to contemporary needs. In addition, I analyze these museums into a social context, and here I use my own theory which I have dubbed the museological-political complex. I…

Masteroppgave i engelsk- Universitetet i Agder 2007 This thesis commences with a description of Pre-Roman and Roman Britain, to identify the people who lived in Northumbria and their background. The description then progresses with an explanation about the withdrawal of the Romans, and the state of affairs they left behind, giving also a reason for the arrival of the Anglo-Saxons. Once this is established, the scene which the Anglo-Saxons meet on their arrival is depicted, and their subsequent settlement recounted. The Anglo-Saxons were a warlike people, so their belligerent activities suppressing the Celts, and the campaigning between themselves and the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms for supremacy, …
Post traumatic survival : a study of Cambodian resilience
2012
Doctoral Dissertation, University of Agder, Faculty of Humanities and Education - 2012 Among refugee survivors of war, torture and human rights abuses, the waiting lists for rehabilitation increase daily. How can war-refugees best be assisted? The experience of earlier refugee groups has remained a largely untapped resource in this work. This study sets out to discover what successful survivors of the Khmer Rouge have found instrumental for their survival and mental health. The aim is to make a contribution to the understanding of resilience, here understood as the ability to recover from misfortune or change, and to the psychosocial rehabilitation of survivors of war crimes and other traum…
ean-Square Filtering for Polynomial System States Confused with Poisson Noises over Polynomial Observations
2011
Published version of an article in the journal: Modeling, Identification and Control. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.4173/mic.2011.2.1 In this paper, the mean-square filtering problem for polynomial system states confused with white Poisson noises over polynomial observations is studied proceeding from the general expression for the stochastic Ito differentials of the mean-square estimate and the error variance. In contrast to the previously obtained results, the paper deals with the general case of nonlinear polynomial states and observations with white Poisson noises. As a result, the Ito differentials for the mean-square estimate and error variance corre- spon…
Modeling and Performance Analysis of Energy Efficiency Binary Power Control in MIMO-OFDM Wireless Communication Systems
2011
Published version of an article in the journal:International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks. Also available from Hindawi Publishing: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2011/946258 The energy efficiency optimization of the binary power control scheme for MIMO-OFDM wireless communication systems is formulated, and then a global optimization solution of power allocation is derived. Furthermore, a new energy efficiency binary power control (EEBPC) algorithm is designed to improve the energy efficiency of MIMO-OFDM wireless communication systems. Simulation results show that the EEBPC algorithm has better energy efficiency and spectrum efficiency than the average power control algorithm in MIMO-O…
