Artemisia arborescens is an aromatic shrub whose essential oils are considered a potential source of molecules with industrial and pharmaceutical interest. The chemical profile of A. arborescens essential oils (EOs) was shown to be quite variable and various chemotypes have been identified. In this study, we compared the EOs composition of A. arborescens leaves and flowers collected from four different locations in Sicily. <p style="text-align: justify;">The development of hardwood cutting of grapevine comprise 4 succesive phases. Phase I: first period of shoot extension. Phase II: characterized by a slow growth due to a very low activity of the terminal bud. Phase III: reactivation of the growth consecutive to a resumption of the apical activity. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin yksilön elämänarvojen yhteyttä työn ja perheen välisen ristiriidan ja rikastavuuden kokemuksiin. Analyysit perustuivat 50-vuotiaisiin Lapsesta aikuiseksi - pitkittäistutkimuksen osanottajiin (n = 156, 53 % miehiä). Schwartzin (1992) menetelmällä tarkastellut elämänarvot olivat hyväntahtoisuus, universalismi, turvallisuus, yhdenmukaisuus, hedonismi, itseohjautuvuus, suoriutuminen, stimulaatio, traditiot ja valta. Suoriutuminen ja universalismi olivat myönteisesti yhteydessä sekä työn ja perheen välisen ristiriidan että rikastavuuden kokemuksiin. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan miesten vaimoihinsa kohdistamaa väkivaltaa itäsuomalaisella maaseudulla kulttuurisesta näkökulmasta. Keskeisiä kysymyksiä ovat väkivallan hyväksyttävyys sekä yhteisön reaktiot väkivaltaan. Näiden teemojen perusteella tarkastellaan myös vaimon asemaa suhteessa mieheensä sekä sukupuolten välistä suhdetta ylipäänsä. Aineistona käytetään kihlakunnanoikeuksien puhtaaksikirjoitettuja pöytäkirjoja. Nämä yksittäisten ihmisten elämänkohtalot toimivat esimerkkeinä varhaismodernissa kulttuurissa yleisemmin jaetuista avioliittoa ja puolisoiden välistä suhdetta koskevista näkemyksistä ja suhtautumistavoista. Nowadays, innovative materials are more frequently adopted for strengthening historical constructions and masonry structures. The target of these techniques is to improve the structural efficiency with retrofitting methods while having a reduced aesthetical impact. In particular, the use of basalt fiber together with a cementitious matrix emerges as a new technique. I artikeln belyses hur individer upplever sjukdom och diagnos genom personliga erfarenhetsberättelser om diabetes typ 1. Med artikeln strävas efter att besvara frågorna: Hur berättar personer med diabetes typ 1 om att insjukna i diabetes? Vad karaktäriserar en diagnosberättelse? I analysen av berättelserna tas avstamp i medicinsociologen Arthur Franks teori om tre typer av narrativ (återgångsberättelser, kaosberättelser och utforskande berättelser).
