Maaseutukirkonkylästä moderniksi kuntakeskukseksi : Kinnulan kirkonkylän rakennetun kulttuuriympäristön muutos 1900-luvun alusta 2000-luvulle

Tässä tutkielmassa tutkin keskisuomalaisen Kinnulan kunnan kirkonkylän rakennetun kulttuuriympäristön muutosta 1900-luvun alkuvuosikymmeniltä tutkimuksen tekoajankohtaan asti. Tärkeimmät tutkimuskysymykset työssäni olivat, minkälainen Kinnulan kirkonkylä oli 1900-luvun alussa, ja miten muutosprosessi kylään vaikutti. Pyrin tutkielmassani analysoimaan vertaillen 1900-luvun alun ja nykyhetken kirkonkylän maisemaa ja kinnulalaista rakennusperintöä. Käsittelen teemoittain asumisen, liike-elämän, teollisuuden, vapaa-ajan sekä kunnallisen ja kirkollisen elämän ympäristöjä sekä niihin kohdistuneita muutoksia. Pro gradussa selvitettiin Suomen osallistumista Naton Kosovo Force (KFOR) ‐kriisinhallintaoperaatioon keväällä ja kesällä 1999. KFOR ajoittuu rauhanturvaamisen murrosvaiheeseen, jolloin perinteiset YK-operaatiot muuttuivat monimutkaisiksi ja vaativiksi kriisinhallintaoperaatioiksi. Tutkimuksessa haettiin vastausta siihen, miksi ja millä perusteella Suomi päätti osallistua KFOR‐operaatioon ja mitkä olivat Suomen pataljoonan ensimmäiset vaiheet perustamisesta toimialueelle saapumiseen. Purpose: Abnormal exogenous attention orienting and diffused spatial distribution of attention have been associated with reading impairment in children with developmental dyslexia. However, studies in adults have failed to replicate such relationships. Friedreich's ataxia is the commonest autosomal recessive ataxia among population of European descent. Despite the huge advances performed in the last decades, a cure still remains elusive. One of the most studied hallmarks of the disease is the increased production of oxidative stress markers in patients and models. This feature has been the motivation to develop treatments that aim to counteract such boost of free radicals and to enhance the production of antioxidant defenses. Correlates of Orthographic Learning in Swedish Children With Cochlear Implants

This study set out to explore the cognitive and linguistic correlates of orthographic learning in a group of 32 deaf and hard of hearing children with cochlear implants, to better understand the factors that affect the development of fluent reading in these children. To date, the research about the mechanisms of reading fluency and orthographic learning in this population is scarce. Believe It or Not – No Support for an Effect of Providing Explanatory or Threat-Related Information on Conspiracy Theories’ Credibility

Past research suggests that certain content features of conspiracy theories may foster their credibility. In two experimental studies (N = 293), we examined whether conspiracy theories that explicitly offer a broad explanation for the respective phenomena and/or identify potential threat posed by conspirators are granted more credibility than conspiracy theories lacking such information. Furthermore, we tested whether people with a pronounced predisposition to believe in conspiracies are particularly susceptible to such information. Effects of Inequality on Trust and Reciprocity: An Experiment With Real Effort

The purpose of this paper is analyzing whether trust and reciprocity are affected by how rich the partner is or how well the partner performed several tasks with real effort. A trust game (TG) experiment is designed with three treatments. First, a baseline Treatment B in which subjects play a finitely repeated TG. Second, in a Treatment H with history, subjects know the partner’s wealth level reached in the past. Estudio de las oligarquías y del gobierno municipal de tres villas costeras asturianas –Llanes, Villaviciosa y Luarca– durante la etapa final del Antiguo Régimen, tanto desde la óptica de la historia institucional como la historia social del poder. Se analiza tanto el origen de sus oligarquías –vinculado a la compra de cargos municipales y de extracción básicamente nobiliaria– como las analogías y las diferencias en las formas de gobierno de los tres concejos de los que las villas citadas eran su capital.
