Abstract The paper presents the results obtained by techno-typological analysis of a lithic assemblage from the Neolithic layers of Grotta San Michele Arcangelo di Saracena (Cosenza) together with the results of micro-wear analysis obtained from a preliminary selection of obsidian artifacts with different provenances distinguished by pXRF analysis. The site provides one of the best preserved Neolithic sequences in the area, from the earliest Impressed Wares (or Impresse Arcaiche) (early sixth millennium BC) to the Spatarella pottery style (end fifth – early fourth millennium BC). Nuevas aportaciones al horizonte del bronce final de La Vital (Gandia, València)

Durante las tareas de seguimiento arqueológico de las obras de construcción del Acceso Sur a Gandia se localizaron diferentes estructuras negativas datadas en el Bronce final ubicadas en el perímetro de protección del yacimiento de La Vital. Las estructuras documentadas corresponden a un lugar de hábitat fechado en estos momentos. En este trabajo presentamos los resultados de dicha actuación, valorándolos en el marco del desarrollo histórico de este periodo en el propio yacimiento y en la costa mediterránea peninsular.
A propósito del Bronce Atlántico y el origen de los calderos de remaches peninsulares

[ES] Los calderos atlánticos de remaches de la Península Ibérica son datados con frecuencia en los ss. VIII-VII, aunque recientes publicaciones plantean que el origen de esta producción metálica en ámbito peninsular podría ser anterior. Intentamos mostrar, sobre la base de contextos estratigráficos y dataciones radiocarbónicas, que los calderos atlánticos de remaches aparecen en la Península Ibérica en el transcurso de los ss. XI-X cal BC.
Pinares y enebrales. El paisaje solutrense en Iberia

Se presentan estudios antracológicos de yacimientos de la península Ibérica con el objetivo de conocer la flora durante el Solutrense y, a partir de ella, las condiciones termoclimáticas y ombroclimáticas. Con los datos publicados e inéditos se demuestra que los refugios de las especies más cálidas están al sur del paralelo 40º N. La flora identificada en los carbones se puede agrupar en cuatro categorías: criófilas, termófilas, matorral y ribera. Se observa un gradiente latitudinal de la distribución de los marcadores más térmicos como Pinus pinea, Rosmarinus officinalis, mientras que los pinos criófilos están distribuido por todas las regiones. Scientific analysis were undertaken within a research project concerning ivory objects from the Chalcolithic to Early Bronze Age of the Iberian Peninsula. In several of the analyses of objects from Portuguese Estremadura, especially V-perforated buttons, we could detect for the first time the presence of sperm whale ivory. This highlights the advantage and necessity of scientific analysis of ivory. It also clearly demonstrates that not all ivory used was ivory from African or Asian elephants, but we also did find ivory from the extinct Elephas antiquus, the hippopotamus and in this case sperm-whale. La necrópolis de la barriada de Orriols (Valencia) se levanta sobre una pequeña elevación del terreno en relación con la Vía Augusta. Se trata de un cementerio periurbano que estuvo en uso entre los siglos II y IV d. C. Los enterramientos responden a los rituales de cremación e inhumación, lo que nos ha permitido constatar dos fases cronológicas durante las que se emplean otras prácticas funerarias. Combination of D0 measurements of the top quark mass

We present a combination of measurements of the top quark mass by the D0 experiment in the lepton+jets and dilepton channels. We use all the data collected in Run I (1992--1996) at $\sqrt s=1.8$ TeV and Run II (2001--2011) at $\sqrt s=1.96$ TeV of the Tevatron $p \bar{p}$ collider, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 0.1 fb$^{-1}$ and 9.7 fb$^{-1}$, respectively. The combined result is: $m_t = 174.95 \pm0.40\,{\rm(stat)} \pm 0.64\,{\rm(syst)}\,{\rm{GeV}}=174.95 \pm 0.75 \, {\rm{GeV}}$.
Combined Forward-Backward Asymmetry Measurements in Top-Antitop Quark Production at the Tevatron

The CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron have measured the asymmetry between yields of forward- and backward-produced top and antitop quarks based on their rapidity difference and the asymmetry between their decay leptons. These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s=1.96 TeV. We report the results of combinations of the inclusive asymmetries and their differential dependencies on relevant kinematic quantities. The combined inclusive asymmetry is At¯tFB=0.128±0.025. The combined inclusive and differential asymmetries are consistent with recent standard model predictions.
Precise measurement of the top quark mass in dilepton decays using optimized neutrino weighting

We measure the top quark mass in dilepton final states of top-antitop events in proton-antiproton collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb^-1 at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The analysis features a comprehensive optimization of the neutrino weighting method to minimize the statistical uncertainties. We also improve the calibration of jet energies using the calibration determined in top-antitop to lepton+jets events, which reduces the otherwise limiting systematic uncertainty from the jet energy scale. The measured top quark mass is mt = 173.32 +/- 1.36(stat) +/- 0.85(syst) GeV.
