A series of four different low molecular weight gellan gum products was obtained by alkaline hydrolysis with the aim to investigate the impact of the molecular weight on the rheological properties of the polysaccharide aqueous dispersions and on the physicochemical characteristics of derived ionotropic crosslinked hydrogels. Caffeine as a Gelator

Caffeine (a stimulant) and ethanol (a depressant) may have opposite effects in our body, but under in vitro conditions they can “gel” together. Caffeine, being one of the widely used stimulants, continued to surprise the scientific community with its unprecedented biological, medicinal and physicochemical properties. Here, we disclose the supramolecular self-assembly of anhydrous caffeine in a series of alcoholic and aromatic solvents, rendering a highly entangled microcrystalline network facilitating the encapsulation of the solvents as illustrated using direct imaging, microscopy analysis and NMR studies. The genetic legacy of extreme exploitation in a polar vertebrate

Understanding the effects of human exploitation on the genetic composition of wild populations is important for predicting species persistence and adaptive potential. We therefore investigated the genetic legacy of large-scale commercial harvesting by reconstructing, on a global scale, the recent demographic history of the Antarctic fur seal (Arctocephalus gazella), a species that was hunted to the brink of extinction by 18th and 19th century sealers. Negli ultimi anni, nuovi e importanti contributi hanno ricostruito il dibattito intorno alla Legge 180 del 1978, con attenzione tanto al quadro nazionale quanto alle specificità locali. Rimane però poco esplorata la questione del superamento del manicomio al Sud, e in Sicilia in particolare. Il saggio intende presentare i primi risultati di una ricerca sulla ricezione del dibattito sulla rivoluzione psichiatrica nel Mezzogiorno, e propone una riflessione sul complesso quadro in cui nel decennio 1968-78 nell’isola hanno luogo, seppure a macchia di leopardo, intense esperienze di lotta anti-istituzionale.

We prove a result on points of coincidence and common fixed points for three self-mappings satisfying generalized contractive type conditions in cone metric spaces. We deduce some results on common fixed points for two self-mappings satisfying contractive type conditions in cone metric spaces. These results generalize some well-known recent results.
A multiplicity theorem for parametric superlinear (p,q)-equations

We consider a parametric nonlinear Robin problem driven by the sum of a \(p\)-Laplacian and of a \(q\)-Laplacian (\((p,q)\)-equation). The reaction term is \((p-1)\)-superlinear but need not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using variational tools, together with truncation and comparison techniques and critical groups, we show that for all small values of the parameter, the problem has at least five nontrivial smooth solutions, all with sign information.
