Suomalaista kommunismia 1920-luvulla on tutkittu laajalti, mutta vähemmän kulttuuritoiminnan osalta. Lisäksi Pohjanmaa alueena on lähes jäänyt tutkimuskentän ulkopuolelle. Pohjanmaa on mielletty valkoisten alueeksi sisällissodan vaikutuksesta. Tutkimus on mikrohistoriallinen esitys Etsivän Keskuspoliisin Vaasan alaosastolla toimineiden kommunististen yhdistysten ja järjestöjen kulttuuritoiminnasta. Miten yhdistykset tuottivat kulttuuria ja käyttivät sitä vallanhaltuunotossa aikana, jolloin kommunismi oli Suomessa kiellettyä? Tutkin artikkelissani henkilö- ja verkostohistoriallisesta näkökulmasta antikvaarista kirjakauppaa, jota käytiin Helsingin yliopiston opiskelijoiden ja tutkijoiden muodostamissa akateemisissa verkostoissa. Minerva Oy oli 1800- ja 1900-luvun vaihteessa Helsingissä toiminut tieteellinen antikvaarinen kirjakauppa. Tarkastelen Minerva-osakeyhtiön historiaa 1890-luvulta 1910-luvulle sen piirissä toimineiden henkilöiden kautta hyödyntämällä kollektiivibiografista menetelmää. Pohdin, miten ja miksi akateemiset henkilöverkostot edesauttoivat liikkeen kirjanvälitystoimintaa. ObjectivesIn Italy, in 2013, a new school curriculum with a sport character was established in high schools, called Sports High School (SHS). The significance in Finland of shipping on inland waterways has been great. This is due to the topography of the country with its many lakes and to the fact that the vast waterways in their natural state were easily navigable. The construction of canals resulted in even more extensive interconnected inland waterways. This study explores the tasks of the steamships plying these internal waterways, their numbers and significance, and also changes and the reasons for these between different inland waterways, as regards different types of vessels and shipowners in the period from the 1870s to the 1960s. Abstract Objective: To conduct a secondary analysis to study the effects, those 4 months of aquatic resistance training have on self‐assessed symptoms and quality of life in post‐menopausal women with mild knee osteoarthritis (OA), after the intervention and after a 12‐month follow‐up period. Methods: A total of 87 post‐menopausal volunteer women, aged 60‐68 years, with mild knee OA were recruited in a randomized, controlled, 4‐month aquatic training trial (RCT) and randomly assigned to an intervention (n = 43) and a control (n = 44) group.
