Šmite pateicas par saņemtajiem materiāliem, lūdz atsūtīt citus, arī pazaudēto "Литовские свадебные народные песни = Lietuviškos svotbinės dajnos", kuras pierakstījis Antanas Juška (Антон Юшкевич), kā arī spriež par dažādu vārdu, piemēram, "bajārs" u.c. parādīšanos latviešu tautas folklorā, salīdzina tos ar citām valodām.

Darbs ir veltīts I. Lukaša 20. gadsimta 20. gados Latvijas presē publicētās prozas izpētei. Pētījuma mērķis ir I. Lukaša Latvijas presē publicētās prozas iezīmīgo īpašību noteikšana. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi, autors izmantoja analītiskās un kvantitatīvās, kā arī salīdzinošās analīzes metodes. Darbs sastāv no trijām nodaļām. Pirmā nodaļā tiek pētīta I. Lukaša sadarbība ar Latvijas galvenajiem 1920. gados funkcionējošajiem izdevumiem. Otrajā nodaļā ir apskatīta zinātniskā literatūra, kas veltīta Ivana Lukaša Latvijas laikrakstu prozas izpētei. Trešajā nodaļā tika veikts Ivana Lukaša Rīgas prozas vispārīgais raksturojums un analizētas rakstnieka Latvijas perioda prozas mākslinieciskās īpašības. …

Italica (Seville, Spain): use of local marble in Augustan age

This study concerns 51 marble finds made of “Cipollino verde” coming from the ancient city of Italica (north of the modern city of Santiponce, 9 km NW of Seville, Spain), the earliest Roman settlement in Spain, founded in 206 B.C. The aim of this work was to determine their provenance from Greek and Italian quarries or from local quarries worked in the Iberian Peninsula. Thin-section optical microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, bulk rock chemistry and O, C and Sr stable isotope analyses were carried out. Results were compared with literature data on “Cipollino verde” marbles quarried in southern Euboea (Greece), Apuan Alps (Italy), Almería, Extremoz, Seville (Spain) and Évora (Portugal). T…

The present work is a part of a complet study concerning of Macrolepidoptera from the forest “Dumbrava Sibiului” in the Sibiu county. They are presented only the species found by myself for the frist time from this area. I mention that these species were not found by me in the five collections of Lepidoptetra studied by me and preserved at the Natural Hystory Museum in Sibiu.

L’objectiu d’aquest article és seguir la trajectòria com a publicista d’Anna Murià compresa entre 1936, any en què s’incorporà al Diari de Barcelona i el 1939, data en què va emprendre el camí de l’exili cap a França. Volem constatar l’existència d’una producció ideològica i política important durant aquests anys en els principals mitjans de l’època. L’estudi d’aquest període, el més desconegut de l’autora, aporta noves dades i resulta interessant atès el canvi significatiu que l’esclat de la guerra i el posterior exili propiciaren en la vida de Murià, perceptible tant des del punt de vista ideològic com personal, fet que repercutí clarament en la seva obra.

Three three-letter words in three recent novels in three different languages: God, sex and joy

In this article, the authors propose to analyse the ways in which religion and sexuality are related to one another in three recent novels: (1) Fransi Phillips�s Die donker god (2007), (2) Inga �olude�s Santa Biblia (2013) and (3) Michel Houellebecq�s Soumission [English translation: Submission] (2015). In each case, the novels are briefly placed within their respective literary cultures (Afrikaans, Latvian and French) in order to offer a contextually sensitive analysis.
