In Catalonia, in a short period of time, statistics have raised from the 1% recorded ten years ago to the current 13% of students of foreign’s origin. This change has increased linguistic diversity regarding student’s background. However, more than a 50% are from Hispanic origin and the majority have Spanish as their mother tongue. In this case, and strictly from a linguistic point of view, the linguistic immersion programs used in Catalonia to teach Catalan to Spanish students maintain their validity. Anna Murià’s work is on the margins of Catalan exile literature. This article, conceived within the theoretical framework of autobiographical literature, is an attempt to contribute to the clearing up of some of the keys to its interpretation. The fictional and testimonial work of the author makes up a coherent and original autobiographical space.

Una cort "ferraresa" a València: els Centelles, Ariosto i un programa de substitució de la tradició literària autòctona

Through a rhyming catalogue of Valencian writers included in his «Segunda parte de Orlando» (Second part of Orlando) (1555) and through other verses in the work, Nicolau Espinosa argues in favour of a cultured literary tradition in a new language, Castilian Spanish. Moreover, the intention to identify the patronage of the dukes of Oliva with that of the dukes of Ferrara, through skilful parallels between Ariosto’s «Orlando» and Espinosa’s composition can be clearly seen.

This article approaches the task of analyzing the autobiographical activity of Joan Puig i Ferrater. Particular attention is paid to «Camins de França», one of the most outstanding autobiographies of the twentieth century literature. The literary production of Puig i Ferreter turns around a series of basic characteristics: life like an initiation journey, life like a search of the affirmation of his own personality, and the sense of sensuality. All in all, the author conceives his office of artist as an adventure in search of his own essence.

The work «Lo Crestià» by Eiximenis is an encyclopaedic project that develops, among many other subjects, the political worries of his author. The Dotzè is the place where the ideas about the ideal society, a society that takes form in the space of the city, are related. Which exactly the image of the ideal city is and with which sources Eiximenis works, is the central subject of this article. Some of these sources have been fully studied, one of them being, for example, the relationship between the Dotzè with the Politics by Aristotle. This article presents some of the results from a broader research study of management styles within the Catalan university world. Two management styles are defined (the collegial and the managerial) and a relationship is established between some of the characteristics of these styles, some discursive features and the gender of the managers. Specifically, an analysis is made of the linguistic markers pertaining to the deictic modality in the discourse that constructs the identity of the analysed individuals. Des de la perspectiva psicolingüística, diversos treballs s’han preguntat si el gènere es representa a nivell conceptual. En el marc de les noves interpretacions de la hipòtesi del relativisme lingüístic, s’ha proposat que les diferències de gènere (masculí o femení) influencien la conceptualització. Aquest article fa una anàlisi d’alguns dels estudis de referència i argumenta que a partir d’aquests estudis no es pot concloure que el gènere tingui efectes en el pensament no lingüístic. A new, philological edition of the marginal notes in Andreas Capellanus’ «DeAmore’s» medieval Catalan translation, uniquely preserved in Real Biblioteca de Madrid’s manuscript II-3096 (I), accompanied by transcriptions of the sentence or paragraph which each note refers to. These notes are thematically classified in four groups and described so as to outline their medieval annotator’s main interests.
